Women's festival claims harrassment by south Ga. police, residents

The Georgia Women's Festival, held last weekend in Tattnall County in southeast Georgia, faced harassment from local police and protesters, according to a press release from the festival.

My oh my, well I think there is more to this story than what is being told. I have personaly been up to Roy's Hideaway manny times, durring events and non-events. I have shopped in the stores, eatten at the local restaurants and never had any problems with the community in general. That's not to say that there probably are some back wood ignorant people. Now as far as the sherrif's office, I have not had any run ins with them so I can't comment on that. But I can say I have never seen any harrassment from any of the locals up there, hell there was one night that one of the local restaurants opened up just for people from Roy's to come eat and have a good time. So I say again there has to be more to this store than what is being spouted by the event promoter.

This has KKK written all over it. The reason the sheriff's department didn't respond when called could be because they were *already there* hiding behind those headlights along with all the local ministers and their posse.

The Tattnall county sheriff's department is in cahoots with the likes of the preachers in the county and surrounding area. From the sheriff's website:

"The Tattnall County Sheriff's Office uses local Preachers, Pastors and Ministers that assist and volunteer to the Tattnall County Sheriff's Office."

If any of the girls had whipped out her AK-47 and perforated a few of those headlights, the sheriff would have been there in 30 seconds and the preachers would have hightailed it outa there.

Just as I suspected. I just got off the phone with some friends of mine that where there for the event and they said none of what is said in this article is true. So obviously this is a lame attempt from Vickie Blankenship to get exposure, not to mention sad sad sad.

Is it me or does it seem some police are stepping up their anti-gay "attacks"? In the past month or so there's been three different incidents where the police are blatantly breaking laws with their homophobia. Maybe it's a sign equal rights are on the horizon.

Well I also found out that one of the Major Lesbians from Savanah had the same thing to say. So you can either believe the truth or you can believe a person who seems to just want to cause more issues for the LGBT community, by claiming harrasment at the littlest thing.
