Rehoboth Beach Raising Parking Rates, Fines, Fees

Rehoboth Beach is raising parking rates for the upcoming summer. City commissioners unanimously approved the increases as part of the upcoming $14 million budget.

yeah, that is very nice... so we won't be parking in Rehoboth Beach anymore. We will go somewhere else.

Fairness isn't a force that one can depend on like gravity or something. The issue is simply that I can't afford to keep dishing out extra quarters to people so an increase in the price of parking means I'll probably go to the Beach one less time per year. That way, I'll stay on budget. The city will make the same amount of money off of me as before and the few businesses I would have spent money at on that one extra day would lose ten or twenty bucks a piece.

Most people will probably put up with the .25 increase but they might leave the Beach an hour earlier then normal. Again, the city will benefit but the businesses in the area will take a hit.

Good for government, bad for business.
