Full story: TwinCities.com

Although he expressed concerns about her failure to make an earlier Kandiyohi County court appearance, District Judge Steve Drange reduced bail for a Willmar woman accused of backing a van over a tent, killing her cousin's baby and injuring the baby's mother.

Stop catering to these animals. She should be held without bail and charged with first degree murder.

Oh come on. Surely you are familiar with the fact that Willmar is quite the hotbed of modeling prospects! Especially for 31 year old women who live with mom and have 2 kids!

Let see, drunk and driving atfer suspension and the bail is reduced. Were I living in this area, I would be remembering that when this judge comes up for re-election. What the heck is he thinking, oh wait, he is not.

This idiot judge represents our tax dollars hard at work. He is lucky I don't vote in that area, or I would be organizing campaigns against him and giving his rivals support.

This woman should (as said previously) be held without bail. She drove without a license and was probably residually drunk (hungover).
As soon as she got behind the wheel as she was, she took full responsibility by turning the key.

So sad to see the judicial system slipping this far.

District Judge Steve Drange I question your intelligence and question your reasons why you reduced the bail. This person backed over the tent and dragged it over 14 feet before she was stopped by hitting a post. This wasn't a simple opps, I hit the gas instead of the break, this was outright stupidity and murder that caused the death of someone. Ask yourself this question, yes it is possible for someone to hit the gas instead of the break, but come on, even the biggest baddest gang banger would not believe your story of backing up that far before realizing what you were doing.

Right you are Griz - there is a pic of her on the 'CCO news site. If she's a model then I'm Miss America.

I quote from the article:
"He,(the defense attorney), also told the court that the July 5 incident was an accident that has distressed his client as it was her cousin's baby who was killed."

To me, that statement implies she wouldn't have been distressed if it was a child other than her cousin's baby.

Let her sit in jail. This accident happened because she drove her daughter to the bathroom instead of walking her.
I doubt the bathrooms were more than a block or two away.
So, her excessive alcohol consumption combined with her laziness, killed a child.

Also, the bail bondsman reported she had already attempted to flee, so let's reduce the bail.
So distressed because it was a cousin's baby, so if it was someone else's no problem?
Has ties to other cities and states, so she has a reason to stay in Minnesota?
Her child needed to use the restroom so while drunk she DRIVES her child to the restroom rather then, oh let's see: WALK!
She deserves to be in jail and she deserves to stay there for a long time.

Why should she be free pending trial? The poor dead baby isn't free. His parents I'm sure are trapped in a living hell. Our system is majorly screwed up.
