This story is very one sided. Please check out all sides of the issue before passing judgement.
I live in the area and would obviously like to see the wetlands restored entirely. Unfortunately, no plan has been presented to pay for the purchase of the land or the restoration. Cargill has come in with a plan to do partial restoration paid for by partial development with lots of civic improvements. This seems reasonable to many local residents.
Again, everyone would rather see full restoration, but nobody has stepped up to put their money where their mouth is. If nothing happens, the site remains industrial salt ponds (for better of for worse).
