I laugh every time I here the media suggesting a wired headset to reduce cell phone radiation. It's common sense that a copper wire would transmit the radiation from the phone directly into your ear! I for one am very glad someone is putting real facts out there on how to protect yourself from the microwaves emitted by cell phones. I looked up the company RF safe in the story and they seem to have been in this business for a long time. I think I'm going to be getting a safe cell phone package from them.

This is true following are the reasons
Phones operate at higher power levels and emit more microwave radiation when they are held lower than the head.
Radiation travels through the wire connecting the phone and earpiece and penetrates the head directly through the ear canal. This has been proven to increase radiation exposure to the brain by 300%.
With phones attached to a belt, microwave radiation penetrates the area by the phone and is absorbed faster than the head because tissues and organs such as the liver, kidneys and reproductive organs provide better conductivity than the skull and have no bone protection

Does anyone know which is more dangerous in terms of electromagnetic radiation emitted:
(1) Wired headset, or
(2) Bluetooth headset?
Note on wired headset: A cellphone can emit up to 2 watts of radiation when in use. Use of a wired headset can capture some of the radiation emitted from the antenna, and direct it up the wire and through the ear at the brain. In some configurations, use of a wired headset can result in greater radiation exposure than use of no headset at all (e.g., in the case of clamshell phones where the antenna points away from the user).
Note on bluetooth: Bluetooth operates at .001 watts. But here the headset is smack right next to the brain. Of course, using a BT headset lets me leave the phone a foot or two away--since radiation energy drops off exponentially with distance, this significantly reduces the radiation from the phone.
BT is 2.4 ghz I think. SprintPCS which I use is somewhere around 1.9Ghz (CDMA)

There is a new mobile application for Android devices called Talk Intact. This app reduces radiation emitted by cell phone during a call.
Every time you make or answer a call and the phone comes close to your ear it automatically turns off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Mobile Data and Data Sync protocols.
So, it proactively protects you from unnecessary exposure to wireless radiation. After call is ended or any time the phone comes away from your head the protocols are turned on again.
The application is available for download at
