Let's be honest, you probably don't know what cohousing is. But you know what a condo is, so add to all the private conveniences of your own home, the conveniences usually found in dorms and hotels, a nice living room and kitchen, and dining room that's open for all residents, optional group meals now and then, cooked by each other, for each other. Always having somebody to watch the game with....priceless. Sounds pretty rough right?

Everyone has an equal vote in these communities, so no one has the ability to create a fascist regime, not even a clueless a**hat like yourself.

Let's be honest, you have a warped idea as to what constitutes good living. Communal living like that is doomed from the onset. It's bad enough if you're living with someone you want to live with. You obviously forget that forty-five to fifty percent of marriages end in divorce, and this being a case where two people "love each other" and vow to spend the rest of their lives together. What about the 960,000+ incidents of domestic violence each year? Yeah, build it up, Jillian. Let's see YOU live in an environment like that and see how long it lasts. You're NUTS, Jillian.

I currently am living in Nevada City Cohousing. We don't share homes, everyone maintains a high degree of privacy, it's a similar setup to a condominium (legally it's exactly the same), and like a condominium we have some shared spaces (pool, hot tub, common house with kids rooms, guest rooms so you don't have to have extra rooms in your house). Cars are parked in garages and spaces to the outside so that we have more green space and pedestrian friendly paths (not to mention no headlights shining into your home at night).

I'd be happy to discuss it further with you. You can reach me at jbrooksmeister at gmail dot com

The problem with this is, that Santa Cruz is filled with Loons, all of whom have some screwball reason why they're "special", so laws and regulations don't apply to them. Like the cell-phone-yappers driving, but on a larger scale. Or some nutjob reason why only they are entitled to some special privilige.

It might work in other parts of the world, but not here!!!!

Wait till some patchouli-stenching idiot decides that burning incense everywhere is part of their "Freedom of Religion", so you haven't got the right to object to the smell.

I don't need to read a book to know that this is a bad investment.
