When WHNT uncovers the President has had burglers break into the Republican National Headquarters, or the Republicans have broken into the the Deocratic National Headers they can give us an investigative report. In the mean time, leave these people alone. When WHNT went to great lengths to track down the first gentleman who was quilty of this, I was embrassed not only for the man, but more so for how unprofessional WHNT's reporter was. What a joke. This is type of gutter journalism is why WHNT is the last place I look for news.

Wendy Halloran: You deserve a medal for not surrendering under fire from the AMCOM and Huntsville personnel who made physical and/or monetary threats upon you and CH-19. Unfortunately, AMCOM Commander MG Myles and former Commander LTG Pillsbury lacked your courage, for they refused your multiple requests for interviews. The Big Question remains: Why would Myles or Pillsbury ignore any GS-13 and above with bogus degrees, while knowing they would have kicked an Army officer out of service for the same offence? It appears that some US Army officers and high ranking Department of Army civilians have no respect for their civilian subordinates. What a shame.

So now the JAG knows who they are, are they planning on taking action or not?

I applaud Wendy Halloran and WHNT for continuing to go after this issue. Someone that has faked their qualifications should not be allowed to continue in a job they didn't deserve in the first place. Plus the fact they are not trust worthy.

Ok folks.

Oleyte used this degree in the early 2000s. At the time, there was no regulation or rule in place that said your college degree had to be accredited. Chris's degree required a document package be assembled citing life experience, etc as basis for the degree - similar to Honorary Degrees that are awarded.

In the original propaga.. I mean.. report, there are many army officers and members that had degrees from this University. Again, no rule, no official punishment.

However, without a regulation in place to say it was not allowable, this activity could not be punished.

Now there's a regulation in place that degrees can only be accepted if they are from accredited universities.

You can't go back and punish individuals who did something, while morally wrong, that was not expressly prohibited. Simple as that.

This overly dramatic bit of "journalism" was one journalist leveraging something fairly simple in an attempt to boost her career. The explanation is simple and hasn't justified this melodrama, up in arms crap.

Six whole employees in 25,000. MY GOD. It's a corruption rate of .023!!! This makes the 99.977% of us VERY VERY SAD. I feel so cheated.

So why are they not on the News right now, and under federal charges for "making a false statement to the government" which is a felony.. Why are they being allowed to "get away with it" I'm guessing it is because they have friends in high places. Thease people are being allowed to get away with a felony, without even haveing their names disclosed. Makes me sick that they can, while others with the proper paperwork are being charged with the same, because they don't have the right friends...

Clark, certainly asks a valid question. Do I think what these people did was ok. No, but its AMCOM's problem to deal with, if they choose to. Obviously, it is WHNT's goal to improve ratings, I just happen to disagree with the way in which WHNT and Ms.Halloran go about it.

Appreciate comments from Meh. I personally work with Chris and am proud to do so. He is a great leader. I did not appreciate the newswoman hounding him at his home for sensationalism.

Like an honorary degree my ass. It was a fake Bachelor's degree. He had to assemble a package based on life experience. Bet it took him a long time to do that. But it didn't take him 4 years to earn his Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management like it takes the rest of us. It took several hundred dollars and postage. Oh, and maybe he slipped them a little extra for the parchment paper. He got extra points for the Bachelor's Degree on his application for merit promotion. Extra points because he BOUGHT IT from a diploma mill. He put it on a government resume. You're a moron if you think otherwise.

If you've worked with some of the government workers I have worked with as a contractor for 20 years (I have a degree from the University of Alabama, if you must ask), you would see with most of them, the ONLY degree they could earn is one they could buy.

The RSA civil service workforce has been dumbing down over a period of many years....

15% of the Arsenal workforce (to include NASA) is all that is truly needed to accomplish the mission. The other 85% might as well be considered high paid wellfare recipients. But hey, that's how you get money into the economy because it trickles down from pay check to car dealer, house seller, etc. As for the command not acting? I'm sure they asked a "What can we do?". They found out nothing or more than likely discovered the old saying that it takes an "Act of God" to fire a federal employee too much of a burden to deal with. Sad but true. Diploma mills? They know they're there. Most federal jobs (non engineering, medical etc) simply don't require an accreditted degree. If they did, 85% would have to hit the road.

UGGGH!!! This story Again??? PLEASE!!! It is NOT my business and neither is it any of anyone else's. It is an INTERNAL HR issue!!! Would you want EVERYONE to know why you were fired or under disciplinary action on the news????

First off, the news media doesn't even get the concept of what security clearance means. It has NOTHING to do with your education level or degrees. Your degree's and education matter ONLY to the position you hold. How else would people work at the commissary or restaraunts without a bachelor's degree with that reasoning???? How would anyone get to the golf course???

This is a PERSONNEL problem and should be dealt with INTERNALLY and kept that way. Is it fair that people use fake degrees to get a promotion? No. Is it any of my business? NO. It is up to Human Resources to do their job. PERIOD> Investigate Human Resources and their inability to do follow ups...

AGAIN - You cannot be punished if there was no rule in place prohibiting the activity. I think buying a degree is bullshit and it offends me. I graduated with honors from Auburn - I WORKED for it.

However, you cannot punish someone for a moral infraction when there was no rule saying you couldn't do it. No regulation at the time, no punishment.

If it makes you feel better, the massive amount of individuals (6 wasn't it?) with unaccredited degrees will not be able to seek further promotion.
