Received an offer through Angie's List offering "Any window size replacement up to 8 windows for $2,999 using Cascade windows. I've been in the market for windows for 3 years for my house and had several companies come out to provide me quotes. I've never seen such poor reviews on any window. Im in Los Angeles area and not having a warranty worries me regardless if the add states lifetime warranty and comments advising people to call an area manager. Thank you everyone for you comments, I will look out for Empire Pacific and Cascade windows in the future.

Cascade made us a custom 7'6" high by 5' wide low-e, argon filled dual pane window that exceeded every expectation. Apparently the complainers are more likely to write these reviews, that's why we decided to put in our two cents. After reading the reviews we still decided to use Cascade based on the high recommendation of our installer, a local family owned window business that has been in Santa Rosa (No. Calif.) for over 42 years and who is very highly regarded here. One of the best things about our window, to us, is that there are no waves in the glass. It is perfectly flat. If you notice, as you drive or walk by most windows, even normal sized ones, they have waves and distortions that are easy to see. Making one as large as ours that is distortion-free is no small accomplishment. We have had no problems, but based on the responses posted from the Cascade reps in response to the complaints we've read here I would say they are striving to provide good customer care.

After readying some of these reviews makes you wonder how good this window is or isn't. Cheaply priced windows aren't going to last. You get what you pay for. If you don't manufacturer in a state how can you give a warranty? Not worth the risk.

Our windows and sliding glass doors are competitively priced.

Our windows last and are backed up by a lifetime warranty.

We work with partners that provide the Warranty Service on our behalf if our warranty Service Technician's do not have a route in a state that we do not manufactur in.

Cascade provides a lifetime warranty on labor and material.

Wow, there is a lot of press here, good and bad.

Just the fact that so much is written regarding this little window company is enough to scare me away from suggesting them to anyone.

Service work is an issue, they (cascade) has no CCB license and therefore depending on the issue, may not be legal to perform any service work on your structure. No CCB in Oregon, WA, CA, ID, MT, UT either, yet they sell and service to all of these states.

I think I'll be selecting another manufacturer. This Drew Character is a web designer for Cascade, yet he is the only employee responding to these concerns. What about that Shawn Cecil guy, I thought he was the director of service. Why isn't he the one offering to help.

Robert Seargeant should be able to help you, he's the VP of manufacturing who had his training from Block Buster as a video store manager. You can find his Bio in Linked-in.......good luck with this guy as well.

1) You would be considered the original homeowner if you live in the home while you fix it up to resell. I'm assuming that you are installing NEW Cascade Windows throughout the house when you say you are "fixing it up to resell." If you resell the house to a second homeowner the 5 Year Transferable Warranty would apply.

2) If you are a Licensed & Bonded Contractor that purchases the property and does not live in the property while you are "fixing it up to resell" your buyer would be entitled to the Single Family Residential Lifetime warrant.

I had Cascade Windows installed in my home two weeks ago; so far they are working great. The Installers were very professional. The windows and the sliding glass doors open and close easily, they look great and block out a ton of noise from outside. I am already noticing that the temperature outside is no longer affecting the inside of my home like it did prior to the installation. I will let you know how things go from time to time.

I purchased a new home from a builder here in Yamhill, Oregon 5 years ago. There were 8 single sash vertical slide windows. 6 of the 8 developed problems with use in that they would bind up and not open or close properly. When I was finally able to track down Cascade Windows as the manufacturer this year, I was somewhat dismayed at reading the posts on this site. What with the "lack of warranty" comments, shody low end product comments, personal attacks on Manufacturer personel, I began to worry about being able to get my problems fixed. I am only telling you of my experience with the warranty on my windows.

I called and spoke with Sandra Hurlburt at Cascade. She told she would have the Service Dept. contact me. She emailed both me and Dawn Malone, Field Service Coordinator. Dawn contacted me with a ticket number. About a month after, when she was able to coordinate a service call INTO MY schedule, she emailed me with a time and date.

Brian, the service tech was scheduled between 2 and 4 p.m. He showed up at 2:08. Put his booties on and checked out my problem. Turned out to be a faulty batch of sash spring assemblies. He not only pulled and replaced the 6 faulty sets, but also the two working sets as well. Now, my windows work like they never did before. I didn't have to pay one cent, and I didn't even have to sign anything. He was very nice in explaining anything I asked him, and he was gone within the hour. I can only say I had a very positive experience from start to finish. Take it for what it's worth.

Point to be made is Cascade Windows are a cheap builder grade cheap window that is meant to only last s few years (3-6) max. They're not great with efficiency and made with highly recycled C-grade vinyl that will break down quickly from washington winters or California summers. They're warranty is not good and covers nothing of where the Windows are commonly failed on purpose because they don't want to stand behind it. The installation is per contractor or sub-contractor as far as performance and installed a low grade product poorly will greatly diminish any durability. I replaced my cascade Windows with Simonton Windows. They're great! and the companies who sell and install them are always the same.... company employed installers are easy to communicate with and they're warranty covers everything.... the repaired the broken glass from an accident.!

I'll take Cascade windows over Milgard or Atrium windows anyvday. i see many a new million dollar homes and many are built with Atrium and or Milgard windows; the homeowners always have immediate issues with windows. i know a few folks with Cascade in Colorado and while the sash springs needed replaced throughout the whole house they were pleased with the service fom Cascade.. that said i still like Andersen windows the best

Lowes offered me Pella and Cascade, which led me to believe it's a trustworthy product. But, since I'm installing replacement windows in a home I rent out, apparently Cascade's warranty is useless since I'm not living in the home, so I'm forced to install something else. Why would you not warrant your product for a tenant-occupied home?

The worst thing about these windows are the slots that drain moisture. Every fly in the valley seems to have found those slots and they use them regularly to come in and out. When it gets cold out, the windows are so full, you literally can't see. Also have had about half fog up in the first five years. And don't even get me started on the stickers. Ten years on and I have large, white rectangular patches on every window that grow more visible each year. Don't buy these windows.

I am appalled at some of the comments on here. General and non-specific. Is it Cascade or your local dealer who is dropping the ball? Was it an installation issue or is it truly a defective window. The internet is full of negative comments on EVERY window manufacturer. I have been in the window business for 34 years and am currently a dealer for Cascade. I have sold many window brands over the years and can say that Cascade is an excellent company to work with. They are very responsive if there is ever a problem and yes, they do include labor in their warranty to the original homeowner.

So far I'm less than impressed with this company. Just compled my new home and several of the windows were delivered with broken interior flanges. Replacement of the sash's with broken flanges took 6-8 weeks. One replacement sash was the wrong style and now I've just been informed that the replacement for the replacement was again shipped incorrectly. Absolutely no sense of urgency from this company and apparently a lack of concern for their service metrics. I used Milgard windows in my previous home and was completely satisfied with their service, quality and yes even their warranty work when the seal in 1 window failed several years later. Definately starting to regret our decision to use Cascade Windows in our new home.

I've had a home on in Auburn for 6 years with Cascade Windows. When we first moved in and purchased screens, the screen installer noticed the screen door track was cracked, likely by the builder. Since it was a small independent builder, he was impossible to reach.(and he never even let us know that our Cascade windows had a lifetime warranty). On a lark, I emailed cascade to ask about buy the broken piece, and they gave me two options: ship the part to me, or send a tech out to replace it. It was easy to replace, so I just had them ship it UPS.

About 4 years later, I had a window seal fail, and they came right out to fix it (remove glass, clean, replace air with inert gas, re-glaze). It's as good as new.

This year, I needed to contact them for some double-hung windows with hardware that seemed a little loose. Again, no problem, they came out and even left a couple extra sets of hardware in case another window has a similar issue in the future.

As noted here, their warranty is for the original owner, but keep in mind that the price of their warranty would increase if it lasted for commercial use (tenants) or was transferable forever. I'm not sure what the builder paid for our windows, but if he had to pay twice as much for the windows to cover the cost of an unlimited lifetime warranty, I'd be paying half that cost. Or I'd have less expensive windows...
