Oregon WWII veteran pilot dies in crash at 87
A World War II veteran pilot has died in a small plane crash in Central Oregon. The Bulletin newspaper in Bend reported that 87-year-old Sheldon Arnett died Friday when his Piper PA-24 Comanche pitched up, rolled and hit the ground at Redmond Airport as he was taking off on a flight to Burns.
