Wyandotte City Council Votes to Take Part in Zoo Millage Lawsuit
City Administrator Todd Drysdale presented a request to City Council on Monday to approve a retainer fee agreement regarding a zoo millage litigation.

They need to get rid of this millage term. Simply state what percentage property taxes go up in laymens terms like in Ohio. Remember common people don't have funds to throw around like decades ago.

Millage itself is not a difficult concept. One mill is a dollar per thousand of assessed value. This zoo millage lawsuit is far more complicated. Voters passed these millages for the zoo and DIA, which was a dumb idea to begin with.(The DIA is not free folks, even though you were told it would be.) THE MONEY IS NOT ALL GOING TO THE ZOO AND DIA. There is legislation that allows Downtown Development Authorities (DDAs) to shave off a portion of those taxes that voters agreed to send to the zoo and DIA. Now those cities want to go to court to make sure they can keep taking the money meant for other things. And they expect the voters to pay for the legal fees to do so.
