Chuck was my staple growing up. Lovedthe games but many times couldn't eat the pizza due to poor quality. Oh well, another icon falls, the times they are a changin!

Sounds more like the owner didn't want to make a lame restaurant better by investing money into it. The place was alright when it first opened, but the current owner has done nothing to make it the fun place its supposed to be. That being said, if people want to keep spending money there, then that's great that some jobs will be saved. I just won't be spending my money there.

Good for You! You have been under Chuck E. Cheese's thumb for to long. I see this as a great thing for Chico! We live in Willows, and we will frequent this establishment more often to support the good Will of the owner providing a place of non-drama, safe, "fun" for family and kids! Thank you! May God make your buisness endevour flourish!

that place is a dump. took my kids there once and it stank like mold. there was obviously water damage on the ceiling from the discoloration of the tiles. the food was nasty, how do you screw up a frozen pizza?? and the games were nasty and not maintained. chuck e cheese in any other city is far better then that joint. too bad it will be the same crap just a different name cause the owner is too pathentic to make much needed renovations!

No shock he didn't renew the franchise...I'm 27 and the games there have been the same since I was young enough to "enjoy" them! It's raunchy and dirty....I drive my 5 year old son to Roseville for ChuckECheese, and it's AWESOME! I'd advise the rest of you to do the same. Unless he plans on dumping all the old crap and revamping, which he doesn't otherwise he'd have renewed the franchise, then it's just going to be the same dumpy place with a new sign.

Just like another unnamed not-updated moldy smelling place for kids to hang out and skate in (oops..did I give that away??) the place is poorly managed. Our kids deserve more places to safely hang out and enjoy themselves. This town is too focused on the college scene. The city doesn't seem to care that these business are going under, and offer no support or incentives for any business's in this town. Instead they cater to art programs and the college crowds. I hope that the owner can turn around his business and offer a place for our kids to be able to have fun somewhere inside when the weather is so bad outside. Kudos to him and good luck!!

I worked here in High School stamping hands and dressing up as Chuck E. It was a pretty decent job for a 16 year old.
I am happy to see that Keser is going to change their pizza recipe..

Uh Oh, I had been keeping my life's savings stored away as Chuck-e-Cheese tokens. I better convert them to something more stable.... I heard that there's a new carwash that uses tokens on the Esplanade....perhaps I'll go there. I just don't trust the American dollar right now.

Maybe if we build them an air force base they will stay and keep those great local jobs here in Chico. Get Bob Linschied on it.

as part of said college crowd ... hmm ... what makes more money ... a pizza / game joint for kids, or hundreds of drunks spending money at the bars 7 days a week.

With that said i wish the owner luck, and franchises suck, one of the gas stations here in my hometown was a 76, decided to go it solo, and now have the cheapest gas prices in town and enjoy plenty of business as such, and also are the only uhaul location that will actually have the truck / trailer that you reserved in stock

I buy a couple of Ps3's or Xbox's and call up dominos or round table and you can pay half the price you're paying at Chuch E Cheese. Deal? Oh and I can get my roomate to dress up as a giant mouse with a guitar.

I have a feeling that this place won't last without the Chuck E. Cheese name. The place really was a dump, and needed the million dollar renovation that the company wanted them to do. The reason they couldn't do the renovation was that the place just doesn't get enough business. Part of the reason is because it's a dump, but the other reason is Chico is a unique town. It's not that there aren't kids here, but kid friendly establishments (the indoor mini golf place, Kids Kingdom, the Old Town Rootbeer Company) don't get enough business. I like to think it's because the families are doing better things with their time, like playing at the park, going for hikes, riding bikes, etc., but I'm not sure that's the reason. People just don't spend money on things like that in Chico.

I meant to say that places like Kids Kingdom, the rootbeer company, the mini golf place all went out of business.

This Chuck E Cheese was a waste of space. I have been to a lot of Chuck E Cheese in my day, and this one was probably the worst...
