First jail in Oklahoma

Years ago I met an elderly man in Red Oak as we were passing through. He lived next door to what he described as "The first jail in Okla. It was a very old rock building and you could still see the bars on the windows. He was a fascinating gentleman and we talked with him for quite some time. We will be heading that direction again in the spring and I'm very curious whether or not the building has been preserved by the city of Red Oak. I know he has probably passed away, but I regret not getting his name. He was a veritable history book just by himself. Any information would be appreciated.
