"I am afraid that Hooks is going down if we what have found out what that place then we wouldn"t have moved over there. "It was a quiet little town but nothing to do over there. "I tried to make friends but they were to good." I already knew people are bigots." We would have live in Hooks for 22 years but it will always be small minded. "We have been living in trailor thats already fallen apart."I tried to find work but they don"t hire anybody who is different." I used to go to the library alot but now they were never open." They always sell bad gas but only person who sells it who used to run a convience store before it tasty house. "Every eaten place we used to go to are being recalled were they had a bunch lazy idiots who don't never like to business with you." Last trailor park we live in who owned by High fluent landlady who works at the library. "It seems like she doesn't even care about that place she rents it to troublemakers and drug addicts. "My niece who is 6 could not catch the bus over there because the lousy noisy nieghbors spiteful grandaughter who picks on her. "My folks and I don"t feel safe over. "The poor excuse landlady likes trouble makers and drug addicts too." And so its that no good police officer name Horn." When your life is threatened no one wants to protect you." You can't breath,no freedom and no protection."The people who runs the furniture place who has lots of money and wealth."They rent slum trailor and houses to the low class people but they don"t believe in fixing nothing. "Hooks is nothing but a bunch of hypocrite town and so its that no good landlady is nothing but a ripoff bitch."

I persoanly love this place I mean i have been other places and yea there are somethings about this place that could change but if it did then it wouldn't ne Hooks. I love Hooks it is the best place in the world.Yea we get away with things that other people wouldn't but thats why its fun and yea our po po are always watchen out for us so who ever says that crap is stupid their selves. Hooks is field with people whjo know what they want we have had 2 NFL people go forword,, form hooks so what ever i love hooks

I love Hooks. I have alot of wonderful memories of Hooks. I moved away from there when I was 10, but it is a place I will always call home. My grandparent's were the best thing about Hooks to me. My Papa passed away 9 years ago and I miss him so Much. My Grandmother resides at a Living Assisted home in Texarkana right now. I have alot of people who are so dear to my heart that still live in Hooks and I will always remember Hooks and the people there. GO Hornets!!!!!!!!!

Hooks is a redneck town I argee but it is more peaceful than texarkana. The schools out here better, and have less " thuggish " people in them. In a day and time when schools are unsafe I am happy to have my kids out here.

Hooks is a sucky place whether you are thuggish or a whitecracker or whatever!! Unless your a Cranfill, Tidwell, or Whisenhunt, your going to be treated like crap!

i agree that hooks i very to faced and it is a who you know town and the hooks finest seem over look things they should not on the uppers of hooks have you ever meet the pharmisists wife oh yeah or mr. hopper at the high school to day one set of rule tomorrow another lets just throw away that hand books we danm sure don't use it or the furn. busness family they can't go out side when it is raining rain in your nose is not good there are a lot more that way in hooks also but back to our cops they look the other way cause that is what the city does for them you know look the other way like if they have a minor girlfriend or one that is already married come on guys the conv. stores are not pick up joints but i guess if we are not goodie goodie with the right people than we just get shit on

Hooks is like any other small town America. We have our good and our bad and we can live with that. We also have 2 highways. One comes into town and the other takes out of town. If you are so dissatisfied I urge you to take the one that leads out of town. I'll bet we won't even miss you!!!

It made me sad to read some of the comments about my home town. I had to move years ago to get a better job. I have missed Hooks every day since I left in 1988. Some of the comments about the Pharmacist and the folks who own the furniture store. Let me tell you they are good people!!My family probably would not have had furniture if it wasn't for their help.
The pharmacist well he is a fine man. My father passed away and it was awhile before my mom received her benefits and he seen that she did not do without her medicine. My home was severely damaged by a hurricane in 2005 and the first place I thought about was Hooks I would give anything to be so lucky to live there again.
I also saw the remark about the Tidwells well let me tell you this. I had a car that like to blow a transmission every once in awhile. They always helped this single Mom out.
I left Hooks for a better job and I guess I did okay. The grass is not always greener. I would give anything for a cup of coffee at CJ's or the Hooks truck stop I know they are both no longer there. Hooks I miss you!!!!

My family comes from Red River County outside of Clarkesville. I grew up in Hooks Texas and it is my home town. I left there with very fond memories of the place and the good people there. I have had a very rewarding career in law enforcement even getting the chance to guard President Bush and Vice President Chenney's motorcade in Greensboro Georgia back in 2004. I find these negative comments of my hometown to be in bad taste especially since some people who post them cannot even spell correctly or know how to use spell check on the computer. One good thing about this great country is if you don't like a place move, if you don't and you just want to sit and moan about how bad it is maybe you need to look in the mirror and the problem would be staring at you. When I went back through Hooks in April of 08, I seen my hometown and friendly people that I have known all my life. So if you don't like it move.

It makes me really sad to know that some people don't like Hooks. I've been living here since I was five, and I love it. The education is great, and the people are wonderful. I wouldn't change thsi place for anything.
