Why even create rules for open space preservation when someone can buy their way around them? The borough will never get the open space back and is too concerned about making money than protecting open space.

Yeah, the Upper Perk midget football program doesn't have a field to play on, but let developers keep building those cheap homes!! And hey, maybe Red Hill will get another building they don't need, like the new firehouse they got from the last developer. There is no question over the zoning change - it will definitely happen, regardless of what the residents/community wants. It is ALL about the money. Hell, why not just abandon zoning laws all together - these meetings/hearings are really all just a formality anyway, apparently.

I am so sick of lower income houses coming into the Upper Perkiomen area. The borough is completely to blame for this though, as they should be buying up open space. This ESPECIALLY includes Phillips Field, an area that has been used by hundreds of youngsters in the Upper Perkomen Valley for DECADES. There is a reason that we fought Zieglars back in the early-mid 90s. And I'm not a democrat, but thankfully Jim Maza stood up for township with that ordeal.

The entire valley needs to stand up and not let huge tracks of land be bought up -- or at least buy it and keep it as open space. The township and the mayors need to be held accountable.

Didn't they just build town houses by the lake and most of them didn't sell? Idiots!!! No one is buying houses. The Market is down everywhere. They are houses sitting there that were build a few years back that was never lived in. Now you building more. A 1st grader could tell you this is a bad idea.

A 1st grader would also be able to compose a proper sentence, unlike you.
