Once again, The Chamber bellies up for another round of Deerfest. Why not just have Octoberfest, because the whole event would be better named "Beerfest",(and that was a really bad movie). Since more and more deer are being checked in via Internet, will this event continue to go on as it has in the past? If you can't hoist the deer, you can hoist a beer!

If you don't like it, then don't show up. It is one of the best town meetings that we have.. More importantly it brings revenue to local businesses

Actually, going into the Red Bud bars during Deerfest is a hoot. You get to see all the "wannabe" hunters that really have no real clue about the true sport of hunting. That said, the gals have nice new camouflage suits to show off and if you look hard you'll occasionally spot a nice rack. Just make sure you've got your "orange" on while hunting before one of those amateurs thinks you're Bambi!

Hunting is no sport, any idiot can shoot a deer. Just because you buy some gear at a sporting goods store doesn't make it a sport.

Does the word SPORTING GOODS mean any thing to you ? obviously you do not hunt, because you don't know the amount of work that goes into hunting, especially when you process your own deer...

Nothing sporting about hiding in a tree to fling four hundred grains of lead at a dumb animal at fourteen hundred fps. Hunting bear, or rhino, or even wild boar, things that fight back, THAT'S sporting. Stupid, inhumane, pointless, and macho bs too. Kind of thing that's good to know how to do but unnecessary.

I know exactly what sporting goods are you fucktard but smearing deer piss on yourself, rattling some fake antlers while bleating for a deer still isn't a sport. Like I said before, ANY MINDLESS fool can do that.

Better yet, maybe your dumb ass can chase that dumb animal into the road & I can flatten both at the same time.

Nonhunters don't realize who pays for most of the "conservation" areas that make up our wildlife reserves. The hunters do. Deerfest sheds a positive light on deerhunting, as it should. There are more deer today than there was when Columbus discovered America. Every year, hunters need to thin the herd, FOR THE HEALTH OF THE DEER! Overpopulation is their worst enemy. Man has killed off most of their natural predators, so hunters play an important role. So, it's much better to have the hunters filling their freezers with venison, than it is to have a deer flying through your windshield. Have a beer and a bowl of chili at Deerfest and enjoy the weekend.

Bullshit, our tax dollars pay for the conservation areas & they also pay to support the majotiy of deer hunters as well, being that most are lowbrow, jobless welfare recipients. I have no problem with people thinning the heard but it's still NOT a sport & that's the point I was making.

I think some people on this thread would consider crapping a sport too. I believe they call that sport "two hunters & a cup".
