Boycott Dollar General because everyone that shops there is too cheap to buy from anywhere else... Oh and while you're at it, stop wearing your Nikes cause they're made in Malaysia. Come on fuckers... Don't be stupid, Tequilas didn't rape the poor woman running at midnight on a week night... But one would believe he was just trolling the streets for those "rogue" marathon runners at midnight... What a coincidence... Keep sucking on the teet if you believe that sorry...

A boycott won't do a thing. Not enough people to care I'm sure. Call immigration. Go to a town meeting. Instigate a lynch mob..whatever. Hopefully in the investigation there are proceedings involving Tequilas and illegals. Anyone care to share info or anything that could shine light on that? Perhaps that will close them down and make folks happy. Never-mind. Everyone here probably knows the same about it. Nothing.

I'm going to have to refute that analogy Wow posted. It is false on many properties and doesn't make sense at all. Well I already boycott Wack Arnold's and Dairy Fairy already for their horrible food but moving on. It has no relevance to this situation, other than the fact they are located in Red Bud. Fair?

Trolling? Well you don't think this guy didn't do the same thing in Mexico? Across the border I'm sure this happens more frequently with no consequences. If I'm wrong please explain.

The town isn't dying, it never will. To the people who are the money in town this is their little haven. Their idea of values and tolerance will continue through their bloodline. Big surprise to anyone?

Besides, there are too many bars. Did I say bars? I meant businesses. Silly me.

Unless you're the investigating detective, his superiors, or an RB cop, this is hearsay (FYI, that means it's not a fact). Don't spread rumors like this unless you know it first-hand.
I don't condone what happened. However, you're lumping in all the other people living in that house saying that they're all bad. That's like saying every white, brown, or black person is bad.
I've said it before, but boycotting Tequila's isn't the right way to go about getting it changed. They're more than likely being investigaged by immigration right now. I, for one, won't throw any stones until the owner(s) has been officially declared guilty of KNOWINGLY employed illegal workers.
Interesting. Let's look at that last statement. I'm sure the owner will use the excuse that he didn't KNOW the worker was illegal. And I'm sure people would/could believe that.

But how can he get around the issue that he pays them in cash & I don't think he'll be issuing them W2's next year. Or that he's renting a house for them on Summit Street?

If those came out as facts, would you still continue to eat at Tequila's?

Down in Chester today ! And usually I see many walking the streets up and down from Gilsters..... Not one Hispanic walking the sidewalk today !!!!.

I'm not prejudice, but this makes suspicion that they are illegal. My sister in law is Korean, one of my best friends is Hispanic, another friend is Philippeno. I have many African American friends and French ! They are all citizens !

The citizens of Red Bud are probably to lazy for any organized action against the place or the people that work there, but Tequila's is on MAIN STREET! If I recogize a vehicle in the parking lot, I'm bound to ask the owner if he or she is aware of the situation. An uncomfortable silence is likely to follow an uncomfortable excuse. Who is going to be proud of contributing to such activities? They're hanging themselves, and they'll be leaving soon enough.

The owners? The owners likely hold life as dearly as the man who is now incarcerated. They sold the guy out right away, and they'll do the same favor for anyone else in their employ who gets caught.

These illegals are slave labor to them. They house them, feed them, and give them a little cash to send home to their families in Mexico. The best part for them is that these men and women are a dime a dozen. They already filled his spot at the restaurant with some other illegal who was waiting for the opportunity.

Tequila's is the exact opposite of shopping Red Bud First.

They contribute nothing positive to our town.

They have no value of human life.

They are taking YOUR money and making a FOOL out of YOU.

When will you get tired of watching them laugh at us?

I'm pretty sure the business pays a tax and brings people to your town, where they might spend their money at other establishments as well... Red Bud already has bad enough options for food. Don't weaken it by running this business out.

Do something positive instead of this organized action. Call the Mayor and get him to get the police down there. By the way, where do you buy your gas? What does Moto Mart or Handi Mart do for this town? Lets boycott them too.

RB has a greater variety of restaurants now than it has for years. is there any other local town of less than 4000 with 12 restaurants with this variety? nearly half do not serve booze so for us to complain now about food in rb makes me wonder what it will take to make you happy?

I agree - he probably will use the excuse of ignorance.

Does he actually pay them in cash - do you know someone that works there personally? From a legal point of view, an employer can offer housing as a "benefit". Point in case, I used to work at a business downtown that had a loft owned under its name. Traveling employees (mostly the executives) would stay there when they were here, away from home. Sometimes there would be multiple people, sometimes not. I realize there's a big difference between the occupants (low-pay employees & executives). The similarity here is that both residences are owned by the company, both residences are in an area/building zoned as single family residence, and both residences had more than one person occupying them at various times.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not condoning anything illegal that the owner of Tequila's has done. To answer your question, if he was found guilty of knowingly conducting illegal activity, yes, I would not eat there.

Really, moreover, if you look at the thread and why it was started, it actually would be a slap in the face of the real victim here if anyone ate there - provided there was a guilty verdict.

It is legal to pay employees in cash as long as the typical deductions are withheld from the gross pay-a check is not required. it is legal to provide housing for employees. I am not condoning any illegal activity however the economic theory is simple-provide inexpensive shelter for the employees and they do not have to earn as much income and it keeps the owner's expenses down via less wages. Also garners control/loyalty out of the employees. The business model is smart and hopefully the owner is trying to be legal. It sucks that most of the revenue generated is leaving RB, that is why our family primarily patronizes locally owned companies. As taxpayers we have the right to make decisions affecting RB.

So you don't have to read through all the posts, 23-year-old Mateo Gomez-Rosete (an illegal alien who previously worked at Tequila's) ran up beside a 51-year-old female marathon runner as the woman was training around midnight Wednesday. He started running beside her making inappropriate comments, and began touching her rear end. She told him to get away from her, leave her alone. Gomez-Rosete is accused of then pushing the woman into a bean field where he allegedly beat and raped her. The victim was finally able to get away from the suspect and run to a nearby foundry where employees were working an overnight shift.

Gomez-Rosete was picked up in the parking lot of a Dairy Queen not far from the crime scene. Authorities say the suspect had alcohol on his breath.

KMOX reports that Gomez-Rosete had worked at a Red Bud restaurant called Tequila's for about a month before being fired a few days before the reported rape. The radio station adds that Gomez-Rosete admitted to authorities that he's in the U.S. illegally, having received a bogus residency card from a friend.

I am boycotting because of BOTH equally.
I am never stepping foot in any Tequilas. My reasons are because they employed illegal immigrants which resulted in a violent assault on an innocent woman.

Immigrants that chose to enter this country illegally are making their first statement of their truth. It is that they will take, take, take and not give back to your country. Their very first intention is against our country; to take from the people however they want.

It's not very fair to boycott a business because their employee did something. I am definitely boycotting them because they hired illegal immigrants instead of local people, but I don't think this man raped her just because he was an illegal immigrant. I mean, seriously...are there no other rapes in this country besides those done by illegal immigrants? What if it had been a 40 year old white male that had been drinking? Would you boycott the establishment that sold him alcohol because he was drunk when he did it? Would you boycott the company the man worked for because they employed someone that drank and had the ability to do something like this?

No one is even concerned about the fact that someone was raped. All anyone is concerned about is the fact that it was an illegal that did it.

I am boycotting because tequilas brought him to red bud.
I am sure you will ask "how do you know?"
My answer
If he was already in red bud why would they have to rent a place for him to live?
Since they rented him a place and brought him to red bud they had to know he was illegal. They brought all those people living in that house here. Where did they find them? It wasn't from answering an ad in the red bud paper. If you think that they didn't know that they were illegal you need to open your eyes. Tequilas is responsible for this attack because they brought this trash to our town.

If there are 12 of them living there it is not a single family house.
If tequilas rented it for them then they have full knowledge of them being illegal.

Tequelas is not responsible for the woman getting attacked, but they are responsible for hiring this person who was illegal, and bring him in to the community. Tequelias needs to clean house before I spend money there again.

I have not problem with anyone immigrating to this country. But do it legally. I am not anti-immigration, I am anti-illegal.
