Red Bud Swimming Pool

So, is there truth to the story that Red Bud was given money to put in an Olympic size pool for the city? Are they going to do it? If so, when?

The guy that lived my Motomart passed away and left the city with 3 million to put an olympic size pool in but they have to do it within the next 3 years. They don't think that they can build it within the 3 million so they are trying to figure it out and talk to contractors and private donors. Of they can't do it then the money goes to the schools. So time will tell!

I heard it was $300 thousand, not $3 million. Which probably wouldn't be enough money for Olympic Size.

Attend a city council meeting to find out. Simply attand and ask. Find out what is really going on. This is a once in a lifetime chance to get a pool paid for by a donor. Is the city willing to seek help? Does it have to be an olympic size pool? Truly an opportunity we do not want to let pass.

I am sorry, but it was not 3 million nor was it $300 thousand dollars. It is true it has to be built within 3 years and 1 year has already passed.Yes it has to be completed within 3 yrs. If it is not completed all the money goes to the Red Bud School District.

Whether it is $3 Mil or $3 dollars... It was really nice of that man to leave anything to RB knowing that the stingy ass people at city hall would not want there to be a very much needed new pool to be bought with that money. It prob burned their asses knowing they couldn't use that money for one of their own pet projects!!
Although the YMCA has done a great job working with what they had available, the pool we have now is ancient. As much as it is used for regular day to day swimming or for swim team, it should reflect what the rest of the city is trying to show. But, no, because it is not football it won't get the serious attention that it needs. You all saw how quick the work was done for the football field and the Better Homes and Gardens snack stand and also the field for the muskets. Swimming and a pool will never have that much attention because who sits around cheering their son/daughter at a swim meet with their friends and a cooler of beer? None that I know of!
I am also very grateful that the donation will go to the schools since it is pretty obvious we won't get a pool. At least the kids will still benefit from the money.

no beef. just sayin there is more to rb than football. also just sayin that red bud needs a nice pool to represent all the talented swimmers that represent red bud at meets! there are many towns that come here and the pool is so outdated! even a pool that could handle more day to day volume. if the pool was nicer and a little bigger, there would be many more people that used the pool daily!
