Full story: Red Bluff Daily News

Vacant businesses along the Interstate 5 corridor, such as the former Helser Chevrolet building, will benefit from a rezone that opens the space up for commercial use.

Anything that grabs the attention of I-5 travelers enough to have them exit into Red Bluff would be good for EVERY business in the area. -Just my 2 cents -Dan Mabry

Come on Barns and Nobles! Most people leave town or shop on line for cars anyway. And besides. IF and WHEN Walmart carries something you like, they stop as soon as they find out about it it seems. They used to carry lots of good stuff. No you can't find anything you need or want there. Thank goodness for Ace Hardware and Home Depot and the little art gallery/ shop down town.

I think a Costco or target would be a great investment so people who live from Anderson to Orland would have a closer place to shop then traveling to Redding or Chico.

Police departments do not need prime real estate, Idiots can find them no matter where there at.

With Obama, Pelosi, and Reid Health Care bill passed. Most California employers will not hire or build new business in Red Bluff or any other city within the second most highest taxed state in the union. With a Liberal California Majority state Assembly, Governor Elect Moon Beam Brown, Mayor Newson the newly elected Lt.Gov ernor, and both Pelosi and Boxer running the once Golden State of California. Things will be Brown for four or eight more years. not only Red Bluff, but many more in California will be vacant for a very long time. Wake up California, Cap and Trade, Higher Taxes, Obama Care, Illegals all over California on welfare, and Federal protection from President Obama, Senator Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi, and Federal Attorney General Eric Holder, and Obama giving away America to our enemy within. Face The Truth ! Obama:===== One big AS-; Mistake America ! How do you like President Obama and 3000 *friends, and secret service going on their trip to India ? The estimated cost for this Vacation, trip will be close to twenty $20,000,000.00 dollars of tax payers money per day. The trip will be over five days. Air force One cost $11,000.00 per hour, not including the crew, secret service, media, Michelle Obama beauty and hair stylist. Why is that the Obama Family will not stay at the US, orIndia Consulate ? President Obama, and his liberal Cabinet spends Tax payers money like they are CZARS or Kings !

Come on Cabelas! You advertise that you are all about "Quality Hunting, Fishing, Camping and Outdoor Gear at competitive prices" Red Bluff Ford's old building would be a great location for your business in California and souther Oregon folks. Red Bluff is located in the heart of the northstate's hunting and fishing and recreation area, gateway to Lassen National park, right off of interstate five. You'd make a killing and do some good for an otherwise impoverished area. Give us a chance, the drive to Reno is killing me.

You people are all drinking the Obama kool-aid.

Ain't nobody gonna build in rural area such as Red Bluff when big stores already in place just 45 minutes down the road in Chico, Anderson and Redding. What are you idiots thinking?

Got any idea how poorly the Red Bluff Home Depot does compared to it's other stores in larger towns and cities? Why they have closed their doors and moved on is beyond me, guess they need a hole to pour their profits down I suppose.

Costco only opens stores in high population density areas. Same goes for Cabelas. These business need volume sales every day to meet their sales quotas.

Red Bluff is a bedroom community, best we can hope for is another fast food joint or convenience store.

Costco, Barnes Noble, Target, Bass Pro, etc would be all great to have here in Red Bluff. Plenty of room available around what used to be the Red Bluff Ford. Shopping for the adults while the kids are dropped off to ice skate. Lets fill up those motels and restraunts in the mornings.
How about the band "Santana". Or something simialr to the Glenn Miller Band for our Seniors to dance to and meet others in the surrounding cities. feel like prom night all over again.

Population and demographics do not justify big box stores in Red Bluff, with high density population centers in Redding and Chico nearby. What we really can need are new industrial, manufacturing, or call-center facilities. With low land costs, vacant buildings, and high unemployment we should pull out the stops to attract such businesses with tax incentives and development grants. How about an incubator for new business development using the Helser bldg?
