Mayor Brown please do your job and stop the dope pushers from getting a foot hold in Red Bluff with their drug business. We don't want it here, never did and never will. Dope is bad news, and whever dope is crime follows.

It's OK. Keep it illegal if you want. You want the government out of it. It's OK. I'll use the current distribution system. If you want to keep drug gangs in the distribution business....well, they're already there. No problem! Keep cannabis illegal. I'll still get anything I want within a couple of hours. Period. No questions asked. No one carded. No ID's presented. And all proceeds go into the drug gang's till. I would like to purchase it legally but it's 'controlled'. It's really OK. Just business as usual. Geez, you act like it's going away. No, you just drive it back underground. Oh, by the way, China called and they want you to quit spending so much money on your stupid prohibition. They're nervous and might call in their loans to us. Besides, the first one didn't work either. How does that go?...Doomed to repeat history. Priceless!

"Dope is bad news, and whever dope is crime follows."
Same with alcohol. Why not ban alcohol too? Oh yes, because it's ban was a total failure, just as the 'War on Drugs' is now. 26 MILLION Americans used last year, and we only have 3 million (already occupied) prison beds. Cannabis is non-lethal, and LESS addictive than alcohol or cigarettes. The crime is brought on by the illegality of the plant, not the plant itself (just as the Mafia surrounded alcohol during it's Prohibition). Keeping it illegal MANUFACTURES crimes. If it's legal, and readily available to those over 18, no crimes will be necessary, just as crime plummeted after the repeal of Prohibition, which failed no less spectacularly than our own 'War on Drugs' has! |

Why don't you actually put Medicinal Marijuana to use? If we have open dispensaries in Tehama County, imagine what they could do with illegally grown marijuana, that has been confiscated from within the county. Take it and sell it to the Co-op's for top dollar, and reinvest the money back into the police force, to stop actual crimes??? Meth labs, sex offenders, etc.
Stop taking away our rights!!! If this is banned, will the County of Tehama refund all the money the medicinal users put out to pay for the script he entire year??? |

Sheriff Clay Parker has spare time to personally harass a legal business. He must be running for office. Why else would he crawl out of his hole of inadequacy, where he hides for three years only to alight on some “mission” in election year. Apparently, he ain’t got nuttin’ better to do.
In those three years, I have been assaulted by my next door neighbor, who I have a restraining order against and is a relative of Supervisor Ron Warner. My daughter and 8 year-old granddaughter were assaulted by my sociopath son-in-law whose extensive record should have assured him some time in jail, but was never arrested. One of my best political friends was badly beat up by her ex-boyfriend and nothing happened None of the assaults ended up on page 3 of the Red Bluff Daily Shmooze. Why? Because I have been a pain in Parker’s political butt, because he is the most corrupt sheriff, since his mentor Sheriff Ron Koenig. I’ve had an illegal chop shop, an illegal paving business, operate next door. Both did extensive environmental damage to the property and nothing was done. Now, my neighbor is been running an illegal storage business. He was cited 3 years ago (last election) by our inadequate and corrupt District Attorney, Greg Cohen, but was never enforced. He is in violation of the new fire ordinance. There is an illegal dog kennel down the road with 10 to 20 dogs. The cops have checked three times and said it was legal. I called Ag Commissioner Rick Gurrola last week, who informed me there is no kennel license and none of the dogs were licensed. So is it just me or is Parker this inadequate in everything he does? Why don’t Parker, Cohen and the board do something about the creep living next door with his rats and herd of diseased feral cats. He throws dog crap along my fence and trust me it smells worse than marijuana in full bloom. It is no coincidence all these public agencies are trying to push illegal ordinances concerning medical marijuana, during harvest. While, patients are home protecting their garden from criminals. Can’t depend on law enforcement to protect them. Some people think cops are raiding gardens, because they are mad they cutting into there little side business. Where does all that confiscated marijuana go? We know it’s been stolen over the years from locker rooms and an unsecured city lot. Amazingly, there has been no thefts mentioned in the Schmooze. Gardens are not being robbed this year or patients realized reporting a the theft will get you nothing more, than an embarrassing write up on Page 3. The county already has ordinances they doesn’t enforce? We have a fraudulent election of Senator Jim Neilson. Why not harass him everyday, until he quits or arrested? Why wasn’t county employees arrested for molesting, giving drugs and having sex with our most troubled youth over at the Juvenile Justice Center? That seems more detrimental to our community than a neighbor having to smell pot or a dispensary selling to qualified patients. Obviously, all cities and counties wasting tax payers dollars on this “problem” have better things to do. They’re just too lazy and corrupt to do it! |

What would you say about banning access to a safe medicine for patients with Alzheimer's, osteoporosis, diabetes, depression, arthritis, Parkinson's, MS, neuropathic pain, cancer, fibromyalgia, epilepsy nausea, glaucoma, migraines, and Crohn's disease?
Well, that is exactly what is going on in Red Bluff! Cannabis can treat all of those ailments and more- and I have solid proof! Run a search and read "Granny Storm Crow's list- July 2009". Please take the time to learn why cannabis should be medically legal! Just read the actual medical studies and articles so you know the scientific facts. So many lies and half-truths are told about this healing herb- I prefer dealing with honest medical studies. Even just reading the titles can tell you a lot! "Prevention of Alzheimer's Disease Pathology by Cannabinoids" or "Suppression of Nerve Growth Factor Trk Receptors and Prolactin Receptors by Endocannabinoids Leads to Inhibition of Human Breast and Prostate Cancer Cell Proliferation" or "Cannabis Helps Ulcers And Crohn's Disease" or "Delta(9)-THC) prevents cerebral infarction"! All of those and more are in my list. Run the search. Read the studies for yourself. Don't be afraid to get educated about cannabis! Thank you. |

I can see the city's interest in not having retail outlets or outdoor grows. I question the city's interest in preventing people from growing medical marijuana inside their own homes, where it will affect no one but the owners.
The people of the State of California are permitted to use medical marijuana. Attempting to stop people from producing their own medical marijuana violates the the principle, if not the letter, of Prop 215 and SB 420. |

Well Red Bluff, less taxable income for you. In case you haven't noticed, many states are attempting to legalize, for the reason being that people are just noticing how incorrect the law is. Currently, the law labels Marijuana as a Schedule 1 drug, which says it is addicting and has NO MEDICINAL VALUE. ONE PROBLEM WITH THAT; medical marijuana dispensaries are popping up in some states like McDonald's for the reason being that IT DOES IN FACT HAVE MEDICINAL VALUE. The only reason pot gets the bad rep that it does, is because it is illegal. Well guess what, the law isn't even correct on how it labels Marijuana. And if you think the negative health effects of Marijuana bad, then you really need to do some research into the side effects of alcohol, yet that remains legal and kills MANY MANY people every year. The amount of deaths associated with Marijuana... ZERO. Odds are the council of this city know NOTHING about Marijuana, other than what they see on those AboveTheInfluence commercials. And another thing, I've done a research paper on Marijuana for a college class, so before anyone tries bashing what I'm saying, do your research. Google norml and you will find all the information you need about Pot.

I really hope the issue of legalizing marijuana is on the ballot next year and it passes.
As long as pot use has the same restrictions as alcohol use, I have no problems with it. I am so sick and tired of taxpayer money being wasted on trying to enforce laws against marijuana. Let's face it, folks, the war on drugs is going to outlast the war on terror. |

Traffic? So....they can't have friends over? Are these 'complainers' just jealous because they don't have friends? Come on now. I'm surrounded by Tehama-tards!!!

And to the moron who posted "whever dope is crime follows", you are a solid platinum gold leaf diamond encrusted idiot. The only reason crime is involved, is BECAUSE IT IS ILLEGAL YOU FOOL. Gangs thrive off having Marijuana illegal, because it creates an underground market. If people could just buy Marijuana from a dispensary or smoke shop anywhere they want, gangs would be going out of business like no tomorrow. Marijuana is their key source of income. Cutting off that source of income will only make gangs that much weaker. They want pot to be illegal just like you do, but like I said... You're an idiot.

Alex my man, chill out dood. He's only concerned that wherever drugs are openly sold or distributed violent crime tends to be present. And for that he's spot on, just check any of the Los Angeles area collectives, each and everyone has been robbed at least once simply because they only deal in cash which attracts criminals who know besides large amounts of money on the premises so is plenty of expensive pot which can be readily sold on the street. So why hit a Circle K or 7-11 which might only net you a hundred bucks or so when you can hit a collective or dispensary and walk out with thousands? This ain't rocket science Bosco, there's just got to be a better way of distributing this product and that way is by total legalization period. You've got to remove the high cost, a value that's only created by being illegal. See you at the meeting on Tuesday! |

I love the way the city and press are now using the word "pot". The issue here is "medical Marijuana" and democracy.
Voters have voted for the right of patients who benefit to use medical marijuana. I personally will be noting the names of the members who vote to ban medical marijuana. I will never support or vote for them again, ever. What I can't comprehend is the waist of taxpayers dollars to fight a state law. Time after time in every county there have been lawsuits brought against cities and Sheriffs Departments for violating laws regarding medical marijuana and it's patients by Americans for Safe Access. ASA has unlimited funds unlike our city, county, and state budgets. If Red Bluff City Counsel passes this ban they will be challenged in a court of law by ASA, Patients, and collective owners. To me it appears the city is sending a very strong message...They would prefer drug dealers on the streets then to allow medical marijuana patients a pharmacy type setting to acquire medication. It would make more sense for this city to follow the lead of Redding and implement strong regulations pertaining to the dispensaries. Require certain background clearances for any owner or employee of the dispensary. Set purchase limits based on the limit set by the doctors. There are a multitude of issues to be addressed without a doubt. What we need to be doing is bringing patients, collective owners, peace officers, and city officials together to hear from all sides and find better solutions to the problems that do exist. Patients are getting the poopy end of the stick I can tell you that. It is cheaper to buy meds from the street then it is to acquire them through safe indoor growing at home or purchasing through a collective. Taking away a patients ability acquire medicine legally through a collective has many legal implications for the city. Are caregivers allowed to deliver medical marijuana within the city limits ? Should Red Bluff City Counsel be allowed to disrupt a patients legal right to acquire medicine? I see a very expensive lawsuit in our city's future at the tax payers expense. Other city's that have attempted to do what Red Bluff City Counsel is going to attempt tonight have been taken to court and ruled against. Please refer to the "Legislative News" section of the CA NORML web site and review the case summary and findings on every case. Our City Counsel is taking the wrong path here. Let's get to the table and find the appropriate solutions together. Save our tax dollars for the real issues ! Terminator Barbie Cottonwood, Ca Shout out... to Inspector Gadget ! wink |

Why can't medical marijuana patients get their medicine from Wal-Mart Pharmacy on the $4.00 plan like everybody else.
Why will the FED's not change this stupid law and solve many many problems. Jobs for farmers. Job's for pharmacy employees. Cheaper meds means patients can afford other important items and return these funds to the local economy versus drug dealers. Money in tax's for the states. Money for research for cures. Drug Dealers profiting from marijuana will be over. Funds from taxed medical marijuana could go towards the fight to keep the cartel out of our local forests. There are so many solutions.... Who's willing to consider them ? The suppression of medication being available to patients without the threat of incarceration and legal charges is over.... understand that ! |
||||
It's not Dope it's medication. Just because some are misinformed does not mean that others should who benefit should be denied. None of us are God. We are not to judge. We are to follow the Laws of the Land.... Right ? |

Licensing, taxing, and regulating the distribution of marijuana is the surest way to put the criminal drug dealers out of business and protect our children from the money-hungry criminal element. It’s time to protect our children and take the marijuana business out of the hands of criminals. License, tax, and regulate the marijuana business.
And while we’re at it, let’s implement a personal cultivation permit. Limit the size of the growing area or the number of plants, and put a small user-fee on it to cover administrative costs, something like a fishing license. Maybe high enough that there will be a little something left over for education or fixing the roads. One possibility:$100 per year for a permit to cultivate a dozen plants. It's a win-win. |
||||
|
I hopet this is passed. Growing and distributing of marijuana needs to be regulated, otherwise it's just protected drug dealing. Plus the smell IS TERRIBLE.
