Hello- I have a young family and we are in the process of buying a home in middletown. Any general tips on the area? Advice on how to meet other parents with young children? Fun things to do in the area? Any advice would be appreciated...

I would suggest joining the parent teacher association at your child's school.

Vandy, you are always telling us about day trips you take with the family, chime in.

Thanks for the advice. My son is two, so it will be a couple of years before he heads to school. I will checkout the new comers club. Any other groups/clubs/fun events to get to know neoghbors would be appreciated

Be sure to get to Croydon Hall and Bodman Park to see how parents can be douchebags when their kids play sports. Do it at this early stage, so you dont turn into 'that guy'...

Do you mind if I ask what section of town?

If you are lucky you will have JDN for a neighbor.

We are moving into the "South" section of middletown- not really sure what that means- I just know it is between 35 and the GSP.

Nice part of town. There is an area there where you can choose which of our two high schools you want your kids to attend. You may or may not be in that area.
