Ranch Rodeo is an event that was re-created a number of years ago to return to the roots of rodeo when the first event was established in 1882. The event widely hailed as the first rodeo was held in North Platte, Nebraska and was produced by William F. Cody (Buffalo Bill). Buffalo Bill incorporated trick riding and a number of other entertaining additions to the rodeo.

The competition was about the ranches and who could be awarded the prize of being the best ranch in the rodeo. Ranch-versus-ranch contests gradually sprang up, and events were created that simulated what the ranch cowboys did for work each day on the ranch.

These rodeos were a gathering of ranch families and became a social function that was not only a competition but a time of visiting with each other and sharing their lives. As time went on rodeo evolved and became a showcase of each individual cowboy rather than the team concept or ranch-verses ranch competitions that were originally held. Modern day Ranch Rodeo is a return to those times of sharing and friendly competition.

In today’s fast paced environment it is rare that one can go to a sporting event of any kind and see and feel the camaraderie and the friendliness that we feel at ranch rodeo.

RNB aparently you make like bull riding but you have no idea what it takes to put one on. This Ranch Rodeo isnt santioned by anyone. All the Cowboys can ride a bull worth a dang is going to go where the money is. We dont get much help from the local businesses so we do what we can afford, and have the manpower to do. Our own mayor has said publicly that he wants the Saddle Club to fail. As long as myself and others keep working hard we can continue to provide family entertainment that doesnt cost an arm and leg while pissing Ron Kemp off!

I MIGHT GET IN ON THE BULL POKER DONT KNOW LAST ONE I ENTERED THEY HAD A DRUNK GUY IN SHORTS OUT THERE AND BULL CAME OUT HOOKED EM SOME ONE TOLD HIM TO PLAY DEAD LOL BULL PUT HIS HORN BETWEEN HIS LEGS AND DRUNG HIM AROUND ARENA FOR A WHILE.BULLFIGHTERS COULDNT GET BULL OFF HIM WHEN THEY FINALLY DID HE WAS NUDE AND SINCE I HAD MY VEST ON AND BULL WAS STILL IN ARENA I WENT OVER AND COVERED HIM. ONCE THEY GOT BULL OUT ARENA WE WERE CHECKIN HIM OVER WAITING ON THE PARAMEDICS HE WAS MISSING A NUT AND ALL TORN UP.
AS FAR AS PUTTING ON A RODEO I KNOW IT TAKES TIME AND LOTS OF MONEY. BULLFIGHTERS ARENT CHEAP . ANNOUNCER. GOOD FUNNY MAN. NEED A GOOD ONE CHECK OUT RADICAL RYAN RODRIGUEZ HE WILL PUT ON A SHOW.
LOTS OF ADDED MONEY TO GET THE CONTESTENTS TO SHOW UP. RIGHT NOW WITH THE ECONOMY ITS HARD TO TRAVEL IF THERE IS NOT GOOD MONEY TO WIN.

Wow. You folks take your rodeo seriously.
As far as what was written about the mayor having supposedly said he wants to see the saddle club fail, that's a complete load of bull. Anyone with much sense who has spoken with the man knows he's in favor of any respectable event or organization that can attract people to town.
Personally, I'm not interested in rodeos, but I like to see them come here for those people who do enjoy them.

I thought it was a pretty good deal. It was a last minute notice type thing. We only had two weeks to put it all together. Many phone calls were made to those who had stock, had time, and were willing to lose money to make sure that the kids had fun. Many dont realize how much work goes into finding the right help, cattle, bulls, horses, and steers ,that will put on a good show and not get someone hurt. Well all the planning paid off, nobody got hurt and it was good ole family fun. Thanks RnB for the offer, there are only a bold few left around Rector who are willing to kill themselves just so the kids can have a good time.
