I would consider it more of a curse to have Harps. Their prices are too high, they have some (not all) snotty employees, their bathrooms are disgusting, and over the last year or so their quality has really gone downhill. Out of date items(milk), and the meat used to be pretty good, but lately have gotten some very peculiar smelling hamburger and chicken. Won't buy anything from that store unless I have to. I think the COC needs to quit letting Harps run a monopoly in Rector and bring in another grocery store. Won't hurt Harps to have some competition. I for one am not going to pay for their new registers when they start uping the prices even more so that you and I the consumer pay for them.

I have always loved shopping at dollar general when I visit rector and love it more than ever with the new store. I will never go to Harps and buy anything from now on as long as that rude, I mean RUDE Martha Froman is working there. I went into the store yesterday around noon to purchase four pieces of chicken. I notice they were all very over cooked and I asked Martha if they could cook me some chicken that wasn't so crisp. She flatly said no and was very rude about it. I left and I will not purchase anything ever from them again. If anyone has any information about the home office phone number I would appreciate it becasue it is time for that grouchy woman to retire.

I'm sure you can find it online. Their prices are way too high, their stuff is always expired, thier refrigerators are always warm and their stuff is of poor quality. I was going to buy some lettuce there the other day and it was moldy!!

One of the worse things to happen to that store was letting Shane roofe come back after he quit to sell insurance (he was starving so he begged harps to take him back) ( Big Mistake) He has about as much personality as my wore out stinky shoe. He would make a better jailer than store manager. Harp's needs what flashmarket got ( A good size employee cleaning, starting at the top)

I hope someone is reading this thread and it gets back to the people at Harps. Clean up your store and yourselves and quit jackin' the customers. There are alot of people in that town (mainly the elderly) who can't afford to go into that store and spend $80 and come out with 4 bags of groceries.

Harps needs to get the yogurt cooler fixed. The right side is always warm. I think this may cause someone to get sick because I know the yogurt needs to stayed cold. Next time you go to Harps feel the yogurt on the right side , it's room temp.

All of their coolers are like that. I hate to buy sour cream, milk, orange juice, eggs, etc. there. But at the same time, I don't want to waste gas money going to Walmart. I went there the other day and every single container of one type of milk was expired.

Piggott Country Mart sucks also. Most of the frozen items have freezer burn, there are mice in there and they get into the bread and no telling what else, but what I want to know is why compare Dollar General to Harps? Harps is a grocery store and Dollar General is a General store with very few groceries items.

I like both. I like harps. I do dislike the deli but there are some good people that work there. Not all of them are snobs. There are actually some people there that do care. I got a peice of the sliced cookies the other day and when I got it home it had mold on it. I guess the deli is the only thing I can complain about. The groceries are not that bad considering the price of gas. Also I have ask for some new products and they have gotten them for me. I ask one lady there to order me some puppy pads so I could house break my dog and she got them for me in like 3 days. She was really nice. So not all people there are snobs. I think the new coolers have helped the yougert and milk stay colder. I have never gotten any milk that was out of date. So I am proud that we have a store like that in town and don't have to drive if we need something quick.
