Why isn't this being treated as an ack of terrorism? Do you know what these things could do to our green lands and farms? Labled male/female for breeding. This is no joke! We need stricker laws. Jail time, not just a $100.00 fine.

Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill. In regions of the world without as much space as we enjoy (read: no room for domestic pets), this is a hobby. People love it.

Jason, It makes me nervous that you are a Federal employee and you wouldn't notify your Postmaster of a suspicious package. The Mohnton Postmaster should be commended for his actions. These beetles could have caused a famine in PA and possibly the country. Don't be so naive!

Think before you scare more "naive" people reading this. Did you actually think that the bugs could destroy, let alone create a famine! You gotta be joking!!!! Take some time to study the specific beatles that were captured. God did not create them to survive, nor cross breed with any beetles in northeast PA! They are nice pets that if get loose, might enjoy one "last supper" before fall sets in.

The beetles need to be deported, just like the illegal aliens that are invading OUR country. They should stick the beetles up the butts of the criminals involved.

YOU big bunch of idiots. I've been studying insects for years and I know that these specific species could NOT affect our environment, even IF they were to escape.

I am in contact with the best breeders in the world and people who are trying to get the species mentioned here, would have to be an experienced breeder.

I think Americans need to be educated in a way that let's them THINK for themselves, and not through the narrow-mindedness of the USDA and USFWS... Seriously!

I represent a group of people going BEYOND what these fools are doing, to discover things about nature, and preserve them.

Did you know that a scorpion was discovered in the US not too long ago... but the person who discovered it... killed it and saved the specimen... instead of trying to breed it... and this is a species that we've never seen before... So it might be extinct now.

We need to be open to the things that might SOUND "evil" and "plain wrong" because of what USDA has shoved down your throat for countless years.

We need to wake up. Americans are now looked upon as fools because of our narrow-mindedness and complete ignorance.

I have bred species that no scientists have ever bred, EVER before... and I'm only 17. This species, is said to be rare, and the scientists know NOTHING about it's life cycle, but I know a lot about it, and how it could go endangered if trees are not allowed to grow to a certain age, before being chopped down.

The things one learns through beetle BREEDING are amazing! Things most scientists will never see.

Why? Why must this be considered terrorism? Are you unaware of the fact that there are NO invasive stag beetle or rhino beetle species in the US, even though there are a couple THOUSAND (yes... THOUSAND) beetle breeders here... and there were probably incidents where an inexperienced breeder accidentally threw eggs out, unaware.

WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE!!

Another random fact for you:

Most of the invasive insects (not reptiles, because it's a valid statement, saying, "the hobbyists did it!" to some extent) were imported because of lumber, plants, and other natural matter being transported. The other main cause of invasive species the GOVERNMENT! They have tried numerous "control agents" that they chose with next to NO research... and it resulted in hell on earth!

Please open your eyes to the stories of a person who has seen this underground community, from the INSIDE!

Please let our country know, so that USDA can transform and become a better company, that benefits us!

Oh... and about USDA:

Everything that they do these days is corrupt. They inject lots of animals with hormones, they lie to the public, they conduct experiments in the wild (such as releasing genetically altered insects that could have serious issues in the future), they blame everything on the hobbyists, they take no blame for their actions, and they make rules that are far too vague and pointless.

I speak from experience here... what do they speak from? Some words and "scientific data" that they never deal with hands on?

Let us start a revolution!
