Do you even know what a cult is? If you did then you would not call Jehovah's Witnesses a cult.

I was born in a JW family, and am fully aware of the definition of a cult. IT IS A CULT. I know for damn sure.

Excuse me? Were you raised in a family of Jehovah's Witnesses? Well, I was. They DO FORCE you to go; kicking and screaming, if necesssary. It's called BRAIN WASHING. They are highly skilled in the practice.

I am very sorry.I was raised Catholic and i was forced to go in a confession box at 9 years old.I think we all were raised in a religion that we might not approve of now.I am aware of the JW religion,my ex was raised in a JW family.I was around alot of people that preached alot and put Catholics down.I just dont understand the part where they say Jesus is the archangel Michael in heaven and when your dead your DEAD.I always believed your soul goes to heaven. As a child you didn't have your choice and most of us didn't.But what i was saying is as an adult, nobody makes you go to the Kingdom Hall. What i will ask you is the bible"the new translations of the holy scriptures"do you think it is accurate and not at all worded to there means.

Look at most cults: leadership of man/men dictates the groups actions/beliefs. With that definition, yes, I would classify JW's as a cult.

As far as the New World Translation goes, do some research on that using Google. You'll find that the originators of this translation did not even know how to translate from the original Greek and Hebrew texts. In fact, there was a famous court case about it.

I was raised as one, and even I dont understand them. They constantly contradict themselves, and seem to have a boner for forcing their "followers" to do as they say, for example, they strongly reccomend you ONLY date, and marry within the religion, if you don't they disfellowship you (in otherwords, kick you out) But the list of "suggestions" goes on and on, so yes, I would call them a F***ing cult!

Just voicing my right to freedom of speech, if you are offended, then why are you on this site reading it?

Jehovahs witnesses never pass around a offering plate, they dont except visitors or anything like that to pay for the costs, the ones that r baptized feel love for jehovah and it motivates them to put some of their money, so other people can come and learn about god and what he has planned for us

I wasn't for most of my life, and
i can tell you being a baptized witness is a hell of alot better than being a part of this world, waking up knowing why
i was put on this earth, and what my future involves... Because of them im no longer depressed
