of course you don't need to be an addict to know when someone needs help.but, remember the say,"PUT YOURSELF IN THE OTHER PERSON SHOES" if somebody wanted to get out of an addiction problem and saw many more in the same position needed help and tried to do it, what's wrong with that?when SUN J.Moon had kids selling garbage for him i didn't see so much protest.and what benefit any one got? in this (hogares) they try to help.my husband has been an alcoholic for many years, and been thru many programs from created even by goverment, and private organizations.and nothing helped. why?,first the person needs to recognize it is an addict.2nd.want to change.3rd.com mit to do it.and someone who's been there can understand them better knowing what this people ere really going thru, and feeling.a doctor can see your body on x-rays,but can he see your pain? maybe he see the cause for it but no matter how you describe it he won't know unless he feel it.same with one who has cancer and one who never had.the one with it may put more efford knowing that you can be cure with certain treatment, but his cancer is a different type, and can't get cure.but since he knows what you're going thru he don't want to let you die and tries more or better to help you,if he loves his patients as any doctor should. something that we don't see much of these days, no matter what good insurance we got.and as for the treatment used in these places i don't beleive what people talk, cause a lot of them just for envy or selfishnes can say anything.i'll investigate by visiting the place to make sure what my relative is going to face.plus if it were a bad program, an attorney would'nt recomend it,or a judge.besides,i heard of goverment approved programs like boot camps, where kids had been abused physically.so, why don't you let the world know about those? and what about the abuse the congress have, using our tax money to live a luxury life, spending thousendsof dollars charged to credits cards the goverment gives them, while we strugle to make a living, and worse now at least get a job?and they don't need any of those luxuries trvels to vegas and eating caviar the best alcohol etc.all on account of our hard earn money.so, it seems to me there is more important issues in live to pay attention to and try to do something about it,than just critisezing someone who's trying to do the best they can by them self instead of becoming another lich to the gov. who maight won't even bother.because they don't have studies and diplomas, which don't teach or show what anybody feels or go thru.or are you going to tell someone who loose a very deer person to death "i'm sorry i know what you're going thru,i can understand and sipatize with your pain, when you never lost a love one.i see there is so many idiots in these world after going to college that i don't see the need for it.

I said I has been clean since October 6, 2005, and I says “It’s a God thing.”

I gives all credit to his Christian faith for bringing me through. Major League Baseball is pleased with his progress, but according to rules I submits a urine test three times a week, which I gladly supplies.

“I know I am an addict. I know I have to be accountable,” said Rangers coach Johnny Narron.“I look at those tests as a way to reassure people around me who had faith.” These days when I strolled to the plate during home games, the organist plays “Saved The Day,” by the Christian group Phillips, Craig and Dean. The drama of the home run derby dream came true for Hamilton. Then I was in Yankee Stadium, hitting 28 bombs in round one, including some over 500 feet.

It was an electric moment for baseball fans. It was also special for his old high school baseball coach, 71 year-old Clay Counsil, who was my batting practice coach. It was one of those moments. Hamilton told ESPN that I was thankful to God, to the Lord Jesus Christ. Even my opponent in the finals, A great baseball player of the Minnesota Twins, was rooting for him, saying that the story needed a happy ending.

This player did not win, but as Tim Slinger of MLB.com wrote,“That story, of course, extended far beyond a diamond in the Bronx.

But in a sense, by "losing" after such a dominant start, Hamilton merely emphasized anew tI quality that allowed me to sink to the personal depths of substance abuse before rising back to the top of of baseball mountain -- I is human.”

I had come through the tunnel of addiction and resumed my baseball career. I was given a national stage to celebrate my recovery and give thanks to God. I do have a happy ending!

One of the television commentators summed it up best—“It’s a bad night to be an atheist.”

My road to recovery on going and I want to thank my friends at

http://drug-alcohol-abuse-treatment.com/

and the people of this group

I finally ended up at "A Better Tomorrow"

hogar crea is definently a good place to rehabilitate any one. I personally should have never left the hogar in miami, was the biggest mistake i made in life for now i have charges on me that i caught right after leaving the hogar, that might lead me to face 5-7 prison years. sad, but true unfortunately. i think everyday if i had another chance, i would go back to hogar crea,i was doing good my family was proud of me, and i broke there spirits when they found out i left the program. Hogar crea was good to me, and i will never forget everyone i met out there, man it hurts to kno i gave up a chance to be a reformed man in society. i really fucked up! to any1 out there that needs help with addiction, sign up 2day, don't wait any longer cause the devil will destroy you! i lost my family, my wife and son, to this shit! Everyday i feel lyk a loser, i lost it all! i lost my best friend of many years whom i grew up with, he couldn't handle seein me hurt myself anymore, always drug'd up and fuck'd up! if i was any weaker i would just grab'd a pistol and jus blow my head off, but something inspires me to keep goin to not give up and i don't know what it is but it keeps me goin...i don't wish this on my own worst enemies

"They could always go to Alcoholics Anonymous, which has a proven record of recovery for many years now... "

According TO THEIR OWN FIGURES AA has about a 5% success rate. 12 step programs are one of the biggest scams in history!

I’m kind of curious. While shopping at Giant Foods on Union Blvd, I was behind three Hogar Crea members who where buying Ice, candy and gum and paying with an ACCESS card. Does belonging to Hogar Crea automatically let you get one of these ACCESS Cards, if so sign me up. If I can pay for my food with an ACCESS Card like the three of them did, then I could go out and buy me a pair of those $150.00 Sneakers and Expensive Clothes the three of them were wearing and maybe even some of the gold chains they had on. How the HELL does that make any sense?
I totally agree with you. They have a drug problem and they get all the help from the goverment, and there's people that work all their life and go there to get help and they denied them.B.S this people take advantage of all.

The Hogar Crea program is okay but it's not the most successful. The year-long program at Teen Challenge is MUCH better. MUCH better success rate.

As controversial as it may seem, the best success rates are in the scripture based programs. Teen Challenge and Reformers Unanimous are the leaders at turning addicts into clean new men and women.

Hogar crea has a higher success rate than any A.A or N.A in history. Obviously they r doin something rite. Not to mention that hogar crea is a non-profit organization not funded by da state or the government. If u do see them dressed nice n wit jewlery is only cuz they have strong family support something crea believes is essential in their resident rehibilitation. Whoever opened this blog really needs to find something more productive to do with der time instead of kickin people doing positive things in life in their back. Hogar crea works n I will support them n their cause anytime. Maybe u should read da history of hogar crea n educate urself on addiction. They say that addiction is a mental or physical dependency on any substance. Ther 4 addicts r sick but I believe that people like urselves who talk negative about somethin so positive r sicker than any addict I ever meant. U should whatch wat u say cuz 1 day it might b u,ur family member,or ur children knockin on the doors of crea askin 4 help.

Maybe if you don't know you shouldn't talk. I have been working with the Hogar Crea for a year now and guess what it's not an easy process to go thru but it is duable. How could you just sit there and bash an organization that is trying to help addicts, I have never used drugs but I work with them and do see the positive changes that these people go thru. If you think the program is not working properly than you need to get involed help and make a difference and only then can you talk...

I'm a re-educater from the program and I have no regret, now I'm a case worker for underprivelged population (HUD) here in Puerto Rico where it began. So you should visit one of the facility before making a comment and understand what CREA is all about. So that u know this program it's the only one that's been in function 42 years international. May peace be with u.

Hogar Crea is good.

The Teen Challenge program has a better success rate.

You can't lose drugs without gaining God.

And most of the pot-stirrers are ones that hate faith based drug programs.
