I have a *little* sympathy for the kids (because they didn't ask to come here) and some of the parents (because NAFTA and its ripple effects have made poor Mexicans even poorer than they were pre-NAFTA). However, the fate of these kids is ultimately the responsiblity of the parents, not the U.S. Gov't.

I'm sure that the children of drug dealing parents or the children of embezzlers are equally traumatized when police arrest their parents and take them away.

Do you suggest Mr. Rosario that parenthood be an excuse for not enforcing laws? Place the responsibility for these children being traumatized where it belongs...on the parents who knew that they were engaged in illegal acts.

The Uncle should have been arrested and charged with CHILD ENDANGERMENT for leaving a 2 year old in his care alone.

Children of USA Citizens by the millions go thru the same emotional stress each day when THEIR parents are arrested and put in Jail, Prisons from crimes ranging from murder, rape , robbery, theft, shop lifing, DUI as children of ARRESTED ILLEGAL ALIENS do for THEIR parents CRIME of ILLEGALLY entering the USA, disregarding Court Orders to LEAVE and etc.

Should the USA NOT arrest murders, rapist or anyone for any CRIME just because they have Children.

When the USA stops ARRESTING it OWN citizens for CRIMES, Jailing them, putting them in Prison for crimes they have COMMITTED just because they have children---then let people know,

That is how most children of USA Citizens are treated when their parents are arrest, jailed sent to Prison.

THE ILLEGAL ALIENS arrested for being in the USA ILLEGALLY at least have a choice of getting the hades OUT OF THE USA and taking their children with them BACK to their COUNTRY where they belong--if they want to remain together.

They chose to come here ILLEGALLY breaking the USA LAWS and are subject to apprehension and DEPORTATION----PERIOD.

American citizens sure in hell aren't absolved from crimes because we have kids.
Only in American would the government be more concerned for criminal aliens than it's own citizens.

Unemployment among no-skill Americans is huge. No sensible person can argue that we have a shortage of poor unskilled people. I have heard it all now, a 2 year old is left alone in a home by his Uncle, because the child's parents were involved in a immigration raid at their job.

I can feel sorry for the KIDS that are involved, they are truly the victims of both their own parents stupidity and illegal actions, and that of the US Supreme Court and their "anchor baby" ruling.

I really do question the US Supreme Court's ruling that "if you are born here, regardless of the legal status of your parents, you are now a U.S. citizen". Do they realize how much of the current problem that we have is from this "anchor baby" ruling? The criminal aliens set up shop here and they think that they are just like any other family up and down their street. Just because you have, stolen an identity to get a job, managed to rent or even get mortgage for a house, and you have even gotten your kids in the public school system – it does not make you a us citizen or make you "legal".

Where are these same courts that seem to always rule that "its always best to keep the kids with their biological family"? Shouldn’t they be "walking the same walk" and keeping the kids with their parents when we send them back home to their own country?

In Rubén Rosario's article he said that "entering or staying in the country illegally is a civil, not criminal, offense" – ooohhhh really – I'm not so sure about that one. Common sense even says that once you have done something that is ILLEGAL – it becomes a criminal offence. Am I wrong - did I miss the memo on that?

We should immediately overturn the anchor baby ruling and to stop the nonsense of "we'll just get there and we will start a family and then we will become Americans". We should round them all up with all of their kids and get them all home to their countries where they belong. I agree that (for the most part) that these people we are sending back are hard working and a resourceful group. Just think how much better off their own countries will be with all these hard working, resourceful families back in their labor pool (hey I’m being serious here). These countries need to get their own economies "back on track" and going. They do not need to have all of their best and most motivated workers to keep jumping their ship.

If we were to stop granting citizenship to anchor babies it would save US TAXPAYER a ton of money and solve a ton of problems.

If we enforced E-VERIFY with all employers we would solve a ton of problems and end a ton of identity theft.

This would cause illegals to go home and if they want the American Dream (if there is one) they can come legally.
