union is the workers coming together, are you saying the workers are no good? the workers have a right to collective bargaining without joining a union lets see the expense you process 300 products in an hour that is 4.6 cents per item. if you double the pay to $28/hr that item goes up 4.6 cents to cover the labor cost. A nickel extra per item will not break anyone especially when they are making $14 more on the hour. Even if you process say 50 items per hour that is 28 cents and 28 cents per item will not hurt anyone.
You should really go take a business class because your numbers don't add up. If your saying the pay is 14 a hour and 300 items are shipped a hour, your still wrong. Each and every item was handled by someone who received it in, someone who stocked it, someone who picked it, someone who wrapped it, someone who packaged it and someone who ships it back out. There may be even more processes to a item, idk. Then you have to pay people who restock items that are returned, janitors, maintenance, etc... So that 4.6 per item you speak of is a lot more than you think. That .28 cents you also speak of would be dollars not cents if you figure in all of the people who handle 1 item. Also if you want to pay pickers 28, then you better be ready to pay skilled employees, Ie: maintenance, IT and all of management a whole lot more. No you don't have a right to collective bargaining either if your not union. You know going in what they pay and what their increase system is. If you don't like it, you can move on.

So do you want let's say Druthers, DQ, Subway, which are individually own to pay their workers 15.00 a hour. If you want one to pay more, then they ALL should have to pay more. Not just the ones you pick and choose. The owners of businesses put their money, homes, and life savings at times to start a business. They worked hard to get where they are. Some mom and pop places don't want to get big but some do and you think it's right for those who decided to expand to have to pay more.

oh ok instead of 4.6 cents for one worker making $14/hr it would be 23 cents for 5 workers making $70/hr. that is still 4.6 cents per $14/hr paid which is 23 cents instead of 4.6 cents my bad guess everyone will go broke paying 19 cents more when they are making $14 more during the same time period. so really all the added costs to products would be from the wages of highly paid management and HR who get paid and never handle the product and not the worker making $28/hr.

Again, you can't pay unskilled works 28 a hour because skilled worker would have to make much more. There is a difference between the two. Those increases have to be added to the items as well. If your going to pay everybody the same or close to each other, then why do people go to college to get a better job? Oh and as far as Amazon pay, they do give company stocks to the employee which is basically more money on the hour. They don't have to give you that or 401K. I guess they could take that all away and give you a .50 raise.

Druthers and Amazon; you can't compare. Amazon bought Kiva Systems for 775 million on a cash deal. Amazon first quarter net sales $ 13.18 Billion. Amazon worth over $ 80 Billion. If mom and pop shop made this much money on the backs of their employees , they need to pay the help more. Amazon only give the stock owners a raise. High unemployment rates allow this company to take advantage of people trying to make a living. Screw these rip offs.

Good for the executives and the union fought for Hostess employees all the way to plant closings. Unions are so incompetent they are shooting themselves in the foot. The sooner unions become extinct the better. If Amazon employees strike hand them a pink slip immediately.

A lot of men and women died to give American workers the right to form Unions. We do not want to return to the past days of company stores, pitting workers against one another ,lower wages, and child labor. History has shown what big business will do when people do not stand up for the working class.

Don't get men and women dying to give us our freedom confused with unions.

ky will continue to lose jobs because it isn't a right to work state. unions are corrupt and nothing but trouble. i avoid all products manufactured with union labor who supported obama, a hardcore socialist doing everything he can to destroy america economically. no to unions and definitely no to obama.
