first of all did you know david ? or have you just "heard" about david ?? without race being in the issue , There is still question to why this Raikes dude gets sympathy but david doesnt (other than davids close ones). yess david has history of wrong , but only to those (like YOU) who judged him and disrespected him. if people actually got to know david no one would have anythang so negative to say about David . David had it rough
day by day . and was judged after mistakes in
his past ! he would take his life for one he loved ,
cared or was associated with .( just the same as
Raikes ) it may not have ben the same story but it was the same situation. Raikes lost his life
after serving to the city and saving life. and etc.
David died because he was trying to stop a fight between someone he knew and someone else
(WHOM WERE WHITE). some want to say thats
not what happened but iwas there i saw what
happened . and i have NO reason to lie for the
dead . david lost his life because he was trying
to prevent a fight ...... now i dont see a bunch of
difference there .
Yes I did know David. I knew him personally. David was on the wrong side of the law, and although this incident had nothing to do with him and the police, David was one of those that seemed to be at the wrong place on many occasions. David made his choice to be the kind of person he was. And it got him killed. I'm not saying that there wasn't any good in him at all. But the bad is what people see the most and talk about the most. David had earned a bad reputation. And that bad reputation is hard to get rid of. Honest hard working people whether they be black or white try very hard to stay on the right side of the law to avoid that bad rep, and to avoid unfortunate incidents like this one. I wish David had listened to the people that tried to talk to him and lead him down a more productive path, unfortunately he didn't.

Dear Lord, help the ones that are showing direspect toward the dead. The bible states that sin is a sin no matter what it is...therefore race does not play a factor into the deaths of both parties...both victims was murdered, whether they seen it coming or not...or to put it in more perspective....Romans 13:1-5 states that governing officials are appointed by God and ministers of God...if you are afraid then do good for his ministers, the police, were put here not to oppress the good but bring the sword of wrath to those who practice please live a good life and prayers go out to both families in this time of tragedy....God bless you all and mature n your actions and show respect for some of the families that may read this...Love you all and good night. p.s. a former Lebanon police Officer caught the person who murdered Anthony Rakes...God works in mysterious ways.....
that was said perfectly

Is it just me or was it in bad taste for the media to play the officer's 911 call? esp. the local radio stations?

It was in extremely bad taste. The family did not need the exploitation of their loved ones last moments. The media wanted ratings and more listeners so they crossed the line. Now the defendant will certainly get a change of venue because the stupidity of media tainting the public who may have been future jurors in this case.

I thought the same thing! Who wants to hear their loved one in distress in their last moments. It was awful.

Davidskeeper, what are you talking about? what does race have to do with this? They were both white...Or did I miss something? I could not make any sense of what you say. You are all over the place. What does this story you just told have to do with anything in this case. And incidentally your story sounds fictional!
