This just in:

Are there really people out there that believe dog racing is good for the dogs?

Even if it were true that the track has a 100% adoption rate that doesn't justify the deplorable conditions under which these beautiful animals are forced to live. We have adopted two former racing dogs and from just they way they looked when we first adopted them it was clear that they were malnourished and mistreated. This sport is already illegal in most states and I hope a progressive state like Massachusetts would follow suit as soon as possible.

To bad the dogs couldn't adopt the humans!Or better yet, have the humans "live" like the dogs.

By the looks of things, sadly, yes. Just like some people were convinced animals living in a two-bit circus were treated well. It blew my mind too.

I think dog racing is disgusting. The dogs frequently get injured and they're treated horribly.
When I was younger,a friend's dad raced greyhounds.
I used to go over there,a lot. I saw how those dogs were treated and the indifference I got when I questioned why the dogs were treated badly. Please,do away with racing. It's barbaric.

Some of the treatment I witnessed in Pownal Vt. was disgusting and was not limited to the infrequent bad owner,it was rampant and criminal!
