Do you think the fact that the man had no job has anything to do with his re offense? It seems the registry does not protect anyone. A man can't flip burgers? I know, it is safer that he is unemployed and homeless? What a JOKE the registry is.... If the registry is used only to force people into desperation, then I don't believe the registry has to be followed by anyone.

In this case, I don't think it had anything to do with it. This is not someone stealing something so they can eat, this guy is a rapist, he'd be a rapist whether or not he had a job.
I am all for second chances and I do think regular background checks go too far when they make it so anyone with a record can't get a job, but in this case, this man is an animal and has proved it a few times. |

The sex offender registry is nice but it can't keep us safe from sex offenders. The only people on that list are the people who got caught. For every one person convicted of a sex offense with a child or adult, there are countless others who have not been caught.
