Strip club debate haunts Fall River revitalization

As an older city striving for revitalization, Fall River has some valuable assets.

the last thing fall river needs is a strip club.especially where they want to put it.its just not right putting a strip club near church where familys go to worship god.also there are many children in the area and the last thing the familys need is to have some drunkin pervert trying to pick one of these kids up.

no wonder the city is going down hill. we dont want certain businesses in here, voted against the casino, that would of brought revenue in....afraid that crime would come to this so called city. now we have no revenue that these businesses would bring but we do have the crime that people were afraid of.....thanks for nothing fall river!

No one forces people to go to any establishment. The Liberals (democrats) talk about being tolerant of others. Perhaps these protesters should be more tolerant. I don't like Church bells, but I tolerate hearing them from time to time. I don't demand they close down and leave the community. I simply chose not to attend.

fall river is an evil wirlpool sucking the life out of everything within the city limits. its a symbol of stagnation. i called the 'city planning' dept the other day and asks what areas are set to be revitalized. They were CLUELESS. "Um... uh.. nothing right now" "why don't you check our website" LOL the city site is a joke! Just compare it to ANY other city, it is laughable.

I'm going to tell you all that:
1) Yes, the license should have been granted to Oliver's;
2) Everytime the City Council 'fights' this particular licensing type, they lose;
3) Each time the City Council loses, the taxpayers pay for each loss;
4) The strip club only operates at night, so no worries about drunken perverts;
5) Cops are on duty 24 hours, so if anyone leaves this establishment driving drunk, there's more money into the system for drunk driving programs;
6) It would be both male & female dancers;
7) There is a (female dancers) strip club on Rte 6 in Dartmouth - & they bring in lots of money;
For those of you who 'disagree' with there being a strip club in Fall River, you can just keep on living your life in a closed view - me, I'm going to continue with an open mind & keep educating myself on the pros and cons of any business proposition that comes to better the City of Fall River.
