Has anyone figured out how to get the Saggy Pants ordinance on the books here? How do we go about formally introducing an ordinance here in Church Point?

I am sick of driving around town and watching those boys walk with such a wide stance to the point of almost doing a split, or literally seeing their butts exposed. It is totally disgusting and an embarrassment to fashion and character.

Does anyone else have a story to share or know how to go about getting this formally introduced to the City Council?

You'll never get the C.P. Police to enforce the saggy pants law. They are too scared to even cross Plaquemine Bayou bride!

You may indeed be correct. That is why I am trying to encourage the good citizens of Church Point to think about the elected officials in this town.

Police Chief Albert Venable is the glaring problem with the entire police force. He lets them play pretend cops on my tax dollars. We need organization and enforcement. I would love to let my kids be in the Church Point schools. There is no way it is going to happen. With the sex offenders living less than one mile from the schools, druggies and drunks hanging out in front of the school, lazy, unemployed fools loitering around the middle school is univiting and down right shameful for this town. Especially the police force.

I would like to see the saggy pants ordinance passed as well...I just can't understand that whole thing...really and truly....why would i want my pants so baggy that I have to actually hold them up with my hands? Anyway...I agree with that ordinance...I definately don't like seeing someone's underpants...I'm in on that one...

Why would any one buy pants that,s twice his size, then he has to used one hand to keep the pants up in the front while the back is so low his underpants shows,I would like to see a person with a pair of pant go see for a job,the employer would say that this job you have to have two free hand to do the job,

To inform the public, an ordiance has been passed by the elected officals that you think are not doing their job. If more people would attend meeting you would know what is going on.

You are right High Horse, had I attended the meetings, I would know that, but unfortunately by the time I get back from work in the evenings, I barely have time to help my child with homework, cook, do clothes, and get ready for the next work day...but I am very happy that this ordinance has passed...I just had not heard anything about it...is there a way that we (who do not attend the meetings) find out what was said at the meetings? Like, a newsletter or something....I haven't seen anything in the CP news....if there is...please let me know....so I can keep track of things....

If you check the fine print of public notices in the Church Point News you will be able to see the minutes of the meetings. Yes it is ashame that the public is not informed by the media alot of things go on that the public and tax payers do not know. Did you know that the town is asking for your vote to pass a sales tax in Feb. It will be a 1%. 40% going to the park, 30% going to police and another 30% going to the street dept. Now this 40% would bring in near 200,000 when we have some need can't see so much going there a year we have old sewer and water lines in this town. We have taxpayers that have to deal with sewer in their homes when it rains. Seems money could be spent better. And as for street dept they already get 1% sales tax after all it takes 3 of them to dig a ditch one to dig and the other 2 to watch. Did you know that their insurance is paid 100% by the town, bet your boss doesn't pay all of yours. Their is alot of spending at the expense of the taxpayer. We don't need another tax the Mayor should learn to cut back a little like we have to do in our homes we can't raise anything to extra. What can you expect from the Mayor we have can't even live within his means. He has filed Chapter 13. If you need to know you came to the right source.

save your breath, there is an ordinance but it will not be carried out just like all the other ordinances. saggy pants started out in prison. when you are in prison you have to wear your pants like that to let people know that you were raped and you are someone elses girlfriend. Im putting it very nicely.

speaking of chief!! I knew someone who called in to make a complaint not knowing the person they were calling on was in custudy. Well Albert put that person on speakerphone & let the suspect here the whole complaint. Then they laughed about it. Well that same suspect went & tell that person everything they said & how he had a good laugh with the chief. Now this was a domestic situation that could have gotten outta control!

I personally don't care for the style either, but I don't think the law should start concerning itself with fashion.

I don't care to see the crack of someone's a-- when grocery shopping for my kids. There's fashion and there's indecent exposure. Your ass is part of your genitalia. Only animals should walk around not conscious of their ass hanging out. What is happening to the human race??
