concerned in Raymondville

I was wondering what the general feeling is about the North Pacific lumber plant in Raymondville. I thank it's great for the community, but in the last three years it's management has went downhill. There have been several employees who were making a career out of NorPac either quit or get fired. And the one's who were fired had to fight for their unemployment becuase management said 'they quit' or 'abandoned their job'. Has anyone had this problem or heard of anyone else having it? I would like to know what everyone else thinks.

I know what I thank. I thank the plant manager needs to watch his back from his assistnat manager. If the assistant manager will lie on the employees of the plant to cover himself over stuff he hasn't done or said then lied and say he didn't say it or to do something. Then he'll lie on the plant manager too, probaly to get his job. If my husband had quit as the assistant manager is saying, he would of stomped a whole the size of Texas in that banty rooster all across the yard of Nor Pac and damn the consequences. He would of done it becuase the assistant manager had lied on him and on several other men there. The plant manager, if your not party to the assistant managers lying, then you better watch your back from him.

my father works for north pacific and he goes down there to work in raymondville all the time and hes never complained about anything. Kevin Evilsizer is a nice man and if im correct i think hes the boss down there. he does not really deserve to be talked bad about. he doesn't have a mean bone in his body so im sure that he wouldn't talk shit about any of y'all either.

jessyn , how right you are Kevin is a wonderful person I have known him for years and he has always been a friend to me even when others had talked about me and stabbed me in the back and his father was a great person also I dont know who the assistant manager at Norpac is but he would be well advised to not mess with Kevin

The truth is Kevin is a two-faced lieing manager who has ran North Pacific into the ground. He tells his employees what they want to hear to their face then bashes them like dogs when they are not around. You are right Kevin does not have a mean bone in his body all he can do is talk shit behind peoples backs, then when he is confronted face to face he tries to kiss your ass. There is obviously something wrong with Kevin because when he took over management at North Pacific he lost at least 8 LONG TERM employees within one year of being there. Not to metion all of the other employees that have came and went there.
When you go to town to the restaurants and other places and talk about North Pacific or Kevin all people can say is how bad that company has went down hill since Kevin has taken over, and it is only going to get worse. Kevin is not a people person and is not cut out to do the job that he is doing. As for the assistant manager you have nothing to worry about you can mess with Kevin all you want he is not going to say a word to your face all he is going to do is stab you in the back and try to get you fired just like he did all the other employees there who have gotten fired. I have heard that he fires people and then tells the unemployment office that they were no-shows or did not call in, so that they cannot draw their unemployment.
Kevin is not a true friend he only acts like he is the truth is (The Country Queen) is that he was probably the biggest one talking about you behind your back of anyone.

this may be true what you say but until I have reason to personally doubt him I will have to remain his friend call me gullible or just plain stupid but but I like to believe in the goodness of people and still have faith in my fellow man

It is very unfortunate that there are so many unhappy people in smaller communities. We all will be judged on every idol word. If we are labeled as gullable or any other off color word for searching for good in our fellow man our country is in dire straights. The accusors are part of the problem and we need solution oriented people. I look at the negitive content of this web page and feel sorry for the people looking for the bad in people. Bottom line, learn who Jesus is and your troubles will become small. Gossipers will have their place in the fire that water can't quinch.

I done some research and this is what I have found about the North Pacific group at the Raymondville facility. From 2000-2006 this location had poor performance on efficiencies. From 2007-present they have lead the hardwood group on efficiencies and profitability. I know this can only be achieved through a good stable work force with strong leadership. The facts would indicate that drastic improvement has been made through developing a good work force. It sounds like to me that past employees have gotten their feelings hurt when they where advised to step up and be a part of the team and they are lashing out to find fault in others, when all they need to do is look in the mirror. Then progress can be made with their attitude. I'm sure Raymondville is probably a good place to live but I bet the population is below 1000, which I have found to contain people that love to gossip and destroy other peoples lives, when in fact they just destroy their own.
Jessyn and Country Queen are a breath of fresh air and an example of the attitude that will lift our economy back where it needs to be.

I have had close contact with the North Pacific situation. I think unless your here, one of the workers (or former workers) you don't know the situation. Steve Canoe had the North Pacific plant of Raymondville back on the rise. How I know, I sat through a few meetings when the company had a catered dinners for the workers. The last year Steve Canoe was plant manager, the head North Pacific guys couldn't quit praising the man and his team for turning North Pacific around, making it one of the best in the area. In fact Steve Canoe was sent to another plant to turn it around. Those words came from his mouth. Facts, things may happen once or twice, but when you have several men say that they have been 'fired' and then North Pacific turns around and say they quit. Theres something wrong. Thats not gossip, thats first hand knowledge there. I think the problems lies not so much in Kevin as in Steve the assistant manager or whatever he is. Kevin has to rely and trust what he's being told. Fast Facts, why are current workers of North Pacific telling everyone that theyr'e told the plant won't be in operation much longer? If it's doing so well, educated me. I've some college credits in business, so tell me why would it possibly be getting shut down if it's efficiency is up? Efficiency goes up, cost on production theorectically goes down. If the plant is making money, again why would it be shut down?
