FOR PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT:

SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL EVENT FOR PARENTS: The Parents Awareness Initiative Network (PAIN - a parent support group, which meets regularly on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month, at Family Mediation & Juvenile Services [FMJS] in Atkinson) is pleased to present a special educational meeting for parents. This presentation will be based primarily on issues surrounding young people today, relative to substance use/abuse/addiction, rehabilitation and some effective relapse prevention techniques and more. Rich Cram, Director of FMJS for the past 9 years, who has been assisting youth and their families in the Southern Rockingham County, will facilitate this event.

Keynote Speaker: Bill DeMars, LADC, CADAC II (MA). Bill works for CAB Health & Recovery Services and is the Program Director of a 40 bed Co-Ed Half-way House and 25 bed Transitional Stabilization Program in Lynn, MA. He has worked for the State of New Hampshire at the (MOP) Multiple Offender Program, in Laconia. He has developed a adolescent program for the Massachusetts General Hospital In Revere, MA. He comes to us with seventeen years of intensive experience and a strong understanding of working with youth and their families toward their goal of seeking long-term recovery. Bill has also played a key role in the SoROCK Community Coalition for Healthy Youth (formerly, The Sanborn/Timberlane Safe & Drug Free Community Coalition) in the past, and has professionally and compassionately helped many youth in this community overcome their struggle with alcohol and drug dependency. Bill intends to present critical information to parents at this special educational meeting relative to youth substance use/abuse/addiction.

Special Guest Speaker Cherie Rousseau of Northeast Drug Test Services will also share important information with parents on in-home drug testing programs; complete with resource information of local treatment centers, therapists, counselors and detox facilities. Northeast offers the newest innovations in testing products from the nation’s leading manufactures. These assessment tests are surprisingly inexpensive compared to drug stores and other retailers, accurate and easy to administer. All tests results are confidential, and services are also offered to schools and workplaces. Come to the event to learn more about Northeast and be assured you will not leave disappointed, but instead you will leave this event with a wealth of necessary information and tools to better help you protect your family.

This event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, June 24th from 7-8:30 p.m., at the Sad Café located at 148 Plaistow Road/Rte 125 (next to Cumberland Farms) in Plaistow. For more information on this event please email SupportThePain@aol.com or visit www.fmjs.org .

Daily Horoscope for December 7

Aries

The level of sexual chemistry flowing between you and you-know-who is so powerful right now that you could almost reach out and touch it. This could lead to some X-rated scenes but there's also a chance that it could go another way and provoke a combustible atmosphere. So do your best to steer the situation in whichever direction you want it to take.
