Been on the road for almost 2 weeks now, and had my first bad experience in a hotel last night.
Knights Inn, in Rawlins Wyoming.
I had already carried my luggage & stuff inside before discovering the deficiencies, or I would have gone elsewhere. First, there were only 2 outlets I could find, which were taken up by the lamps, mini fridge, microwave and TV, which was good that they were there and they all worked. But these outlets were all hidden behind furniture, so I had to start shifting furniture to get access to the outlets. I had nowhere to plug in my laptop, cell phone, or coffee pot without unplugging other things. There was also no outlet in the bathroom for my blow dryer and curling iron. No tissue paper, however I also always carry a box of huggies wet wipes, so problem solved there. The internet also comes and goes, so it took 3 tries over the night and morning to check my email. And on top of all this, I sat down in a chair by the provided table and it fell apart with me!! Now I know I’m not a light weight, but I’m not that big!! I got so embarrassed I almost cried even in a room by myself, until I checked the chair and realized that it never broke, it just came apart,,all the joints just popped apart,,the glue seemed to be nonexistent in the little holes where the plugs went to connect the pieces!
I was tired, so decided not to demand my money back, repack all my stuff, and go to a new hotel and start over since the room was clean as a pin, and had a big, clean bed and really that’s all I actually needed. But I got so mad that when I realized the chair just fell apart, I never broke it, I finished the job and left it sitting right in the middle of the room with a nasty note telling them they were lucky I hadn’t sued!
Hope they can read it, since it was all I could do to understand them. They barely spoke English. Which is another thing, after I thought about it, I don’t like knowing that in order to sign in,,I had to give my name, address, phone number, license number(which just happens to be a class A—fully endorsed), car license number and bank card number to people who barely spoke English with the illegal problems going on in the world today either!!
Hellfire, I’m not a racist, but I have enough bills of my own, don’t need somebody named Rosa or Hector using my info and making more!!
