Is anyone else dreading the holidays as much as I am?
This presidential election has split my family in two.
The Bible thumpers are beside themselves because Obama won the election.(and I have two sibs and their families who are EXTREME right)

The rest of us are die hard democrat.
It should be a real fun holiday. Not.
I hate arguing about politics but if I say nothing,I might explode.

People put way too much energy into picking sides in post-election debates. Yes, elections are important, and everyone has valid reasons for wanting their candidate over the other. However, dividing family holiday celebrations over who got elected is not healthy. The entire point of getting together on the holidays is unite, not argue. I've been told that with these events, don't talk about politics or religion. Nothing gets accomplished from the Monday morning quarterbacking that goes on in post-election discussions. Republicans will need to start accepting that their man lost and be civil. Democrats will need to try to keep the gloating to their circle of Democrat friends and be civil with the Republicans.

Probably wont be much arguing and more glaring than gloating.

Well, if they're that judgmental, do what I do. Go somewhere fun instead and tell them you have to work. Better yet, blame it on your significant other. The family will probably need another reason to talk shit about him/her anyway.

Just make sure there's something else BIG going on. Somebody needs to get knocked up or arrested. Minor firearms accidents and automobile crashes will work too. Simply rearranging your house or cooking a new dish won't do it.

To vote for a party rather than the man himself is just idiotic.

i can honestly say that the media concerning politics makes me wanna puke. they have beat me down the last year on this and that. i havent watched more than a few seconds since the election. talk about beating a horse to death, my god man. now the talking flappers on all the news channels are telling us what we need to do. fox included - the only true fair and balanced news station is sick too.

. I wonder if we are related!? My family is making me crazy, too, griping about or boasting about the outcome. I am afraid some of them won't even get together because of it. I have come to realize that, in my life anyway, it doesn't matter who is in the White House. Whether I succeed or not depends on ME and my attitude and how hard I work. Wish my kinfolks could figure that out.

If my parents weren't getting up there in age,I'd use a sick day this year and stay the hell home. But they are getting old and it means a lot to them for us all to be there.(and they are both on my side anyway) so well see what happens.

Not an option,at least not for extended family. We have custody of our grand dog because he nipped someone in our sons apartment complex in Mo-town. He's not company friendly.
Do you ever sleep Guru?

I thought you were a couple hours behind us. I flew to Denver out of Columbus one time. Left Columbus at 10:00 and got to Denver before noon. Messed me up for a day or two!
