i worked in the care center kitchen for a short amount of time.. i was trained 1 day by the dayshift cook and then i was left all by myself. so i had to get help from the receptionist( great lady!! loved working with her!) the day shift had 2-3 people working(cook, helper, and sometimes a cleaner)and after 5:30 i was left all by myself to do the work of 3 people.. and was getting yelled at everyday when i came in because i wasn't doing everything on the list... this list had me doing prep work for the day shift people, plus my own prep work, cooking, serving, dishes (ALOT of dishes), cleaning, sweeping, mopping.... i was hired in as a part-time cook and ended up working 40+hrs a week.. because when they would hire someone to help me they either quit or got fired because of stupid reasons.. the menu is posted on the wall and is supposed to be followed but that was never the case, the day shift always changed their menus which made me change mine..
the thing that pushed me over the edge was when i found bugs in one of the utensil containers (which are covered up by towels...) the silverware is thrown in drawers, the pots and pans are stored in cabinets with chipboard shelves that are turning colors the health department needs to make a visit to this place! i can go on and on about all the things that would fail an inspection but i wont.. i just know i will never put any of my family members in this place.
the employees are not allowed to leave the building for any reason unless on their 30min lunch.. even though they make you clock out for 15 you cannot go out to smoke...
the employees are also supposed to be provided one meal per shift but the midnight shift are never left any food and are locked out of the kitchen after the cook leaves around 9:30pm
i did like the evening shift cna's and nurses :) they were very nice and offered help when they could

I would never put my family there. It's under staffed and under paid. It's supposed to be an assisted living home. But there's only about 10 people there who need assistant, everyone else NEEDS you to do things for them. Everything for them. People aren't even certified there! Some of them are, but the majority aren't. They get trained for 2 days, then left alone.

As an employee here I would never bring any family member here for care and that is terrible to say but the truth. There is not enough staff to properly care for the residents even at times for basic needs to be met. The pay is very minimal , a matter of 20 cents above minimum wage to be exact. Have not seen any pay increases for 3 years plus besides state minimum requirement pay went up . Several different people have been hired and were not talking ten , twenty it is excessive, so you really never know who you might see takeing care of your loved one at any given time. This place has lost countless people due to the fact smoking is prohibited by anyone hired after 2008 on breaks except the half hour lunch. I didnt realize we had God as the owner to choose our path for us. There is genuine people that do care dont get me wrong, I guess that is where the owner is lucky because without the handfull literally it is very scary thinking about what might happen to the place at times. I could tell alot of stories but I think my above statement of I wouldnt put my own family in here speaks volumes... We are truly underappreciated and taken for granted by the owner.

There is something that can be done. Call OFLAC to come in for a visit! There has to be some sort of regs even if they do not accept Medicare or Medicaid. The elderly are paying a steep price for care they evidently aren't bring provided, or sub standard care. These owners should be ashamed!

I dont know who or what anyone on this thinks they r talking about. But come on this is nothing but a bunch of slander. The residents of rcc are very well cared for. For the most part the majority of the are spoiled and pampered. If you think better care is given some where else just pop in another care home and observe. You will see that ready made meals and a hospital like environment and most of staff that could care less if Granny likes her bath on sunday or wants to eat in her room. Before one utters these words, take some time and do your research. And as far as pay goes. If you dont like it go work at MickeyD's or Wendys. I hear people dont like to work there either. So suck it up. Quit the whinning. Either you like ur job and what you do or give up.

Your gonna find something in every kitchen. Kitchens are not perfect. And as far as feeding employees go one is not entitled to a free meal. Grow up.

The ones that have a sign posted in their employee lounge "each shift is offered one free lunch per day." don't talk about stuff when you have no idea what is going on. Don't say you know what happens unless you work there. If the place is so wonderful why is the state always being called in to investigate the people? Hmm.

WOW. Cant believe this sight. I would like to say i have worked at the care center before. The meals that everyone are complaiing about was delicious. Homemade cinnamon rolls. yummy..hot rolls.yummy. everything. yummy. I would never say that I wouldnt put someone there if I worked there. This means you dont do your job. Those are the one she dont want there anyways. Quit. Dont bad mouth. And before you ask I moved, is why i dont work there. And as psycho would say, I have been a turd hurder, a bed pan washer and i have done office work, at my job I am at now. So there isnt a job I havent done. The pay isnt better anywhere else and if it is its because you have more responsibilities. So try to quit bashing and be happy you have a job.
