Will we all go to hell?

If every religion thinks their religion is right and everyone elses is wrong, does that mean we will all go to hell when we die? I have heard some religions state that only a small number of people will make it into heaven (only thousands). Let us say this has been pondered for 2000 years or so and many people have devoted their lives trying to be one of the very few to cross into the gates of heaven. Has this number been reached yet and if so is there any reason for people to continue to try? I would say this has led to much debate over the years and certainly some heated arguments and wars. Just think of all the religions and all of the people that ever lived and will live in the future. It is a shame that so many people can read the good book and have so many different opinions of what the words mean. Maybe it is good enough that people read and think about the meaning of the words in the Bible instead of living like animals. Maybe that was the reason God inspired man to write these words? If this is the case this should soothe the unbelievers as well as the believers. Nobody wants to live in a world filled with nothing but bad and evil people. Just wondering.

“Religion has convinced people that there's an invisible man ... living in the sky. Who watches everything you do every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a list of ten specific things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do any of these things, he will send you to a special place, of burning and fire and smoke and torture and anguish for you to live forever, and suffer, and suffer, and burn, and scream, until the end of time. But he loves you. He loves you. He loves you and he needs money.”

The only virgins left are 15 year old male gamers with headphones in a basement eating hot pockets. I loved Gone D's quote from Bill Maher. Classic stuff.

I don't believe in hell, so I'm not going there. When I die I'm coming back as an eagle or a dragon. Preferrably a dragon. But ill settle for an eagle.

If there is only room for thousands, that doesn't leave much room for the adults considering, most not all, children are truely the only ones who have not likely done anything to not deserve going to hell.

The "thousands" the poster was likely referring to is the 144,000 people that will enter into the kingdom of Christ after Armageddon. It comes from the Jehova's Witnesses. Which, like Christianity, Mormonism, Islam, Buddhism, Scientology and all the others, is completely hilarious and based in absolute fantasy. Live your life as full as you can, then die with some dignity - either fertilize some plants with the residual elements your body is made up of or donate your carcass to a medical school so some kid can learn something.
