have you ever wondered why all of these committees the city has in place never have a town meeting never have an open meeting or even go out in the comunity and ask for our opinion on agenda items. what ever happened to the promise of haveing a trasparent government. well what can you expect the gang of four has always run things and continuee on that track to nowhere. its time to picket at city hall. maybe we could get the union pickets to stand out front and help out.

Ravenswood has 2 PRO officers. They are working out of the schools. 1 at Ravenswood High School and the other at Ravenswood Middle. The government funded for years both of these officers, but now have told the cities and counties they were cutting their funding and if the city wants a PRO Officer they are going to come up with some cash. These officers are a part of the Ravenswood Police Department. Their insurance is paid, their uniforms are paid, their salaries are paid by the city, but the city is reimbersed by the Jackson County BOE. I am supportive of the PRO both have established a relationship with their students and have really kept things quiet. Ray Anderson is the RMS PRO, so I guess he will be the one in question. The part time officer Clyde Armstead quit Ravenswood PD the 1st of the month to go to work at the Sheriff's Office so he can be their PRO Officers. BUT when Ravenswood Police Department has 3 officers on day shift NOW then why cant one fill in there at RMS. What the hell? It was a great grant..but all good things come to an end and with the economy being like this they are going to cut. If they cut Officer Speece he will be able to come back to Ravenswood Police Dept with his seniority. BUT I believe, the Board of Education needs to step up and do their part and I don't understand why Ravenswood Police Department should be the burden of this grant. We need those officers in the schools.

ok here goes do any of you highlt edumacted council members have the balls to ask any of these question. Hell i know kit kat does.
Does Ravenswood need a franchise agreement?
What happens if the city just lets the existing franchise expire?
Is the cable franchise exclusive in Ravenswood?
Does the cable franchise cover telephone and internet services?
What is the franchise fee and where does that money get used?
What kinds of items can you negotiate in the franchise?
Is there a renewal process and where are we?
Will you have a town hall meeting to discuss the change and provide time for public comment?
Is the current provider in compliance with the terms of the agreement?
Is the current provider in compliance with applicable law?
Is the quality of the current provider service reasonable in light of the community needs
Does the new franchise company have the financial, legal and technical ability to provide services to the community?
Is council aware of any violations with the current provider?
Does Federal law prohibit council from making a change unless violations exist?

What the heck is this??
We go from selling food in the park. To.
Over budgets. To.
Swimming Pool and chemicals. To
3 officers on duty on dayshift. To
Supervisor using city men and city equipment for personal gain. To.
Police cruisers. To
Park building needs new roof. To

Honestly, it is no wonder the Mayor and Council is chasing their tails. THIS IS WHY WE HAVE COMMITTES. And, to my knowledge the ole cable got to come into the city just to give service to everyone inside the municipality of Ravenswood. That is the charter. Mentions nothing of internet or telephone.

Psycho, yes, you have brought up a few good points. Is this the reason why Mayor Harbert was always confused? Everyone jumps from topic to topic and gets nothing settled?

yup they do have committees, they have sub committeeies, standing committeeies and Ad Hoc committees. hell they have assocations. and boards. the trouble is no one has any idea what they are to do. after all you have no idea how bad that fireplace at the museum is. Damm town has to many chiefs and not enough indians. the gand of four should be ran out of town on a rail. and once again i will say just for the newbes. the charter needs to be updated. the damm thing out dated. No thought process just knee jerk reactions.i wonder how many items the council has tabled in the past four years that just died of lonelyness. i would venture to guess hundreds of them. they all have blinders on. it has goten so bad you are not allowed to ask any questions at city hall.

ok council members heres else to think about for tonight. Can city councilmembers volunteer for the city?
It depends on the situation. A city councilmember may volunteer for a volunteer fire department or other organization that protects the health, safety, or welfare of the city if the city council adopts a resolution allowing city councilmembers to do so.
1 But the attorney general has stated that a city official cannot volunteer for the governmental entity that it governs if the volunteer position would be:
(a) supervised and controlled by the governing body; (b) the volunteer activity would normally be done by a compensated employee; and
(c) the activity was not temporary or intermittent.
2 Thus, a city councilmember may be able to volunteer to plant flowers or help with a park clean-up day, but would likely be precluded from regularly performing the duties of the city secretary or a utility employee. ok now which one of you edumacated morons will bring this one up. my money is not one of you.

Psycho, like I said I think there are a lot of problems that need addressed right now before you move on. Maybe that is being a procrastinator, but
I believe, we need to see how much money ON PAPER not by mouth this city has. Why is there just a chosen few priviledged to such information. I would be glad to help on a committee and I am sure my wife would also. BUT we have to get the problems of the past administration taken care of. If this an be done in a week or a month. Then we can move on. There are so many stories and manipulations from so many people they should be fired. There is a charter from the 1st cable company. I have seen it, but who knows now. I do not want to put my good name on a committee for a city with so much wrong doing. Finish the old and stop dragging their feet, who are they scared of. They have a fantastic, very intelligent attorney who will not take them the wrong way. Thanks for the conversation, but got to take care to get previous things done. ALL ARE GUILTY OF THIS.

I have provided my opinion on some of those items. now just set back and watch what happens. most will be approved without discussion and one or so tabled. never to arise again. the actions of council will not change the gang of four will see to that.

Psycho, I appreciate the offer and I will attend at 7:00 PM, but let me assure you I am highly capable of deciding things on my own. You sound like a pretty zippy sort of fella, but you need to learn sir that a committee is just that..to talk and decide what the best way to present what we have decided to the council/mayor and not just one man's opinion. Maybe you are the problem.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Leo

You're in a very idealistic mood today, making it almost impossible for you to view loved ones in their true colors. If they've got any faults you won't see them because you'll have blanked them out. This rosy vision of your nearest and dearest is fine if it doesn't last long but it will cause problems if it persists and you continue to brush any problems under the carpet.
