Hello,

I haven't been in Ravenswood for 20+ years but considering a return. I lived in Silverton and remember it being a nice neighborhood. My children will be home schooled when they are of age, so we're looking for a small town environment to relocate to.

Questions:

I am a licensed school teacher in Virginia so would obviously seek employment in that venue. Are there any private/christian schools in Jackson County?

Parents - how would you grade the public schools in Ravenswood?

What is the cost of real estate like in/around Ravenswood/Silverton/etc? Ideally something between 5 and 20 acres. It would not need a home on it currently so long as it was level enough to build a home on after purchase.

Personal inquiries:

Is Mr Lawson still around and in the classroom at Ravenswood Middle School? How about Mrs. Toothman at Eastwood Elementary? Mrs. Wiseman?

Also, please feel free to give insight into the community. From the posts all ready here, I see there are some problems in the community. Every community has their share of issues, but please feel free to be candid in your views. I'm certain they'll help me get a feel for the current state of the town I lived in as a youth.

Mr Lawson still teaches at Rav middle, Mrs Toothman is at Rav middle now and I believe Mrs Wiseman retired.

I haven't lived in ravenswood for 2 years but when I did I thought the Elemntary School along with the Grade School was really good. I absolutely Loved Mr.Frazier. When my children went to school there he was the principal. The teachers there actually care about the kids they teach, My favorite was Mrs. Beverly Smith.

Mrs. Wiseman is Retired from teaching. She is now a part of the Corrupt Ravenswood City Council. haha.
She is part of that Harbert/Romeo/Hunt "machine" that i strying to take over this town.

seriously, this town is messed up. Everybody knows it.

The Harbert/Romeo/Hunt Political Machine is corrupt as Hell.

That whole mess where they got Bob Romeo(Lucy's Brother) on the City Council is a disgrace. He Wasnt even Voted on. He is a sore loser. Everybody hates him(Including his WIFE and his kids.) His wife had and affair with former WVU Football Star Jake Kelchner.
He used to Hang out AT The LADY GODIVAS STRIP CLUB IN HUNTINGTON. Bob also got fired from a job for sexual harassment!!

Seriously, That other moron Gary Hunt resigns from his city council job because Lucy Hired him for another CITY JOB!! THEN they get Bob on the city council to replace him!! Their were 3 other more people who had MORE votes than Bob who should have been in that Council seat!!! Judy was INVOLVED with that Crap!! That whole thing was done so the Romeos/Herbarts/Hunt could control their business interests!! They got that homosexual Jared hunt(gary's son) working for the paper!!! Gary does a lot of advertising for his store and their would BE NO PAPER if it wasnt for him!!

Plus, Jared is a disgrace to reporting!!! He is filing all this crap to get peoples names in the paper, buy he leaves out a bunch of stuff when he is told.

For example, There was a story not to long ago about an incident that occured at Mulberrys. It said "the Owner called the police" blah blah blah.

The Owner is Brian Gould. Jared didnt mention that because Pete Gould also runs this town. Pete calls in favors ALL THE TIME! Pete and Gary are friends.
Pete ALSO does a lot of advertising FOR the PAPER!!
