A few years ago in Santa Monica, Christmas Displays offended Damon Vix, an atheist, who applied to put up a booth next to the Christmas scenes Last year, he encouraged other atheists to flood the city with applications. So this year To keep things fair and legal, the city held a lottery to parcel out slots. Atheists won 18 of 21 spaces. A Jewish group won another. The Christmas story that traditionally took up 14 displays was jammed into two.

The Atheists kept quite of their agenda to ensure the usual few would be the only ones that submitted an application.

The Atheists then left spaces empty just to show the Native Christians that the act was just to attack them and not to actually serve as a space for a legitimate display.

Another act of tolerance?

You can hunt down all the stories you want on your fringe websites. Anyone can. But you're missing the point. After 200 years of being forced to adhere to certain religious principles, the country is stopping. For that group to do what they did is an example of religious tolerance. Their methods may be undesirable, but the fact remains that they took matters into their own hands to exact change. And they did. Atheists represent 16 percent of the population - more than gays, unions, jews, hispanics and most other groups that use lobbyists to get favorable decisions. But atheists are changing that. Good for them. And good for any other group that follows suit. It's been decided - keep your religious bullshit out of the public, no matter what it may preach.

Well, putting up Anti-religion displays is the same thing. Soooo that's a double standard, again!
And I'm not searching for anything, you're just a bag if assumptions today huh? I get it in my fake fb newsfeed. Tons of it!! Like 10 new things a day from attacks by atheists on Christianly.
After 200 years?? You gonna have to elaborate on that bacon bit!

In this country, for over 200 years, christianity has been the socially accepted religion. Any other religion was viewed as "different" or "inferior." Our separation between church and state got clouded and if there were exceptions made, it was for christians. People haven't just now started to notice the nativity scenes on public property - they've just now got fed up with them. This country is changing - we are no longer going to accept half-ass religious laws, jailing millions for marijuana, starving children and legislating the bodies of women. We are getting progressive. With that comes growing pains like these. As long as we err on the side of expanding freedoms and never constricting them, we'll be great.

Lol ur a hoot! If others took you as seriously as you did yourself you'd be dangerous with your outlook on things. And jailing for weed, starving kids, and stuff is laws based off religion? And far as your theory about other religion being inferior, it was more a minority. And all religions thinks theirs is the absolute one! If not then why in the hell would they follow one they seen as inferior? You gonna trade in ur nice ride for a clunker? Well hell no! Makes some sense man! Ur statements are ones that lack understanding. You sure do hate something so bad that you don't even understand properly. Yes I know, you can't understand the talking snake and big boat thing you keep repeating like it's a Glenn beck joke. But I'm not talking about that, I'm talking bout the understanding of being part of a religion.

No shit psycho. He makes no points whatsoever. I mentioned a few things that are changing in this country and religioun was one of them. Like I said, he doesn't have actual ideals or positions. Just wants to insult after his beating.

Any one can put in an application to put up a display, like it showed the Jewish had a display. I guess the others didn't apply for a space. And it's not the town celebrating it, it's random people uses lots to put up a display. So I really have no clue how you got your understanding of what happened because it's far from what i said. Dreaming up words?
And the whole point of it was bacon boy was boasting on another thread about how tolerant atheists are. Just merely showing he was wrong as usual.

This guy's eternal search for topix fame makes me laugh. I didn't say how tolerant atheists were - I said, clearly, that it seems atheists lead a more christ-like life than most christians, because bigotry and hatred of different races and cultures come predominantly from christians. You don't respond to that, you just bri8ng up quasi-news stories showing isolated incidents of what a small group of people do. That's not how you debate. Again, you've made no statements. If you are claiming that atheists are less tolerant than christians, then say that. But I think you know better - so on we go with your 9th grade argument to no end.

You didn't say how tolerant atheist are?
Let's review it.

I agree, except that he did have immense input in his commissioned translation. If I commission a panel to study the effectiveness of US Policing methods, would you trust its outcome? You might, but you'd have to concede that if it was skewed, it would be skewed to my preference.

The problem is that atheists tend to live a far more christ-like life. They support the poor, are more tolerant of differences and work progressively for man. The gay bashers and bigots of this country are exclusively Christian.
See! Atheists are more "tolerant of difference"

Well it seems you did say that, and it seems you backtracked and was wrong again as usual. Cause their not more tolerant just not as many to make news worthy events. Anything else you "forgot" you said?

And by no means am I saying Atheists are less tolerant than Christians. Just that y'all aren't this Gandhi like imagine that you project! So save ur self righteous act for the other idiots here you get over on. Not happening here bacon bit.

Good luck with that. All readers are able to see what I am saying, and that you are saying nothing. I'm glad that you agree that atheists are more tolerant than christians in abstract. But there are isolated exceptions everywhere. Bigots are usually christians. Scientists and progressives are more often atheists. I really can't keep repeating myself until you understand. If psycho gets it, you probably should as well. Move on cyberstalker, your 15 minutes are up. Or at least claim a position on a topic and defense or assert it. Right now you're doing neither.

But you see, in this country, we are supposed to tolerate EVERYTHING. Anything goes nowadays - anything. There are no laws that man respects - not even the only ones that matter, The Ten. We are supposed to tolerate homosexuality, bi-sexuality, cross-dressers, Buddists, Hindus, and even Muslims. We are supposed to tolerate extreme leftists, atheists, agnostics, and any other group you can mention. We are supposed to tolerate freedom of expression - even when that expression is so intolerant that we want to shield our children's eyes and ears. BUT, who cannot be tolerated? Christians. Why? Because we believe in all things good and reject all things that go against the very nature of God. Sin is sin is sin is sin is sin. We don't tolerate sin and since they "Love the Darkness," they hate us who have the Light.

If anyone is going to cry FREEDOM, well freedom includes Christian's rights too - to believe in the One and Only, Living, Breathing, Alpha and Omega, the True and Ever Present God Almighty, His Son and the Holy Ghost. If we are all free, we are free indeed.

The church is intolerant of sin - as it should be - but (like Jesus) we SHOULD love the sinner and hate the sin. That's a tough one though, isn't it?
