You identified the people, and you don't have to use names to do that. You have no crediibility. Topix can't do anything. What's your goal? Enbarrassment for the family? That'll help. Nosy neighbors calling CPS just as effective as posting on topix.

I'm thinking CPS isn't gonna be all that threatened by anonymous topix posts. And the only "proof" you could have would be photographic. So I should tell you that if you took a picture of a family inside the privacy of their own home, you'll likely end up doing a little time. Here's another useful nugget - a parent smoking a joint with their kid may be a poor choice, but it isn't even illegal. Smoking weed hasn't ever been illegal. Possessing, growing and distributing is. At most, the parents would be charged with a very minor misdemeanor like contrbuting to a minor. But they'd have to be caught by authorities in the act. Could you imagine if our public officials had to investigate every ridiculous accusation made by every nosy neighbor? Can't happen. Won't happen. And that's a good thing.

It's outrageous that the parents would be doing this with their child, but this kind of crap happens. There are incidents worse than this. There is no excuse for it and the child needs to be protected.

As far as photographing people in their own home is concerned, among other things, this type of offense is going to become more prevalent with the advent of all of these video (and audio) devices. Cameras are everywhere now - phones, computers, etc. And for all the good that it might do in some situations, it is still an invasion of privacy.

If an individual is concerned about an act such as this in regard to that child, I would report it to the authorities and have them investigate it. You can file a report in confidentiality and remain anonymous. When it comes to the welfare of a child, there is no excuse not to act to protect.

A piss test doesn't prove a parent did anything. Use your brain. And you're implying that I don't work (wrong), that I receive some type of financial government assistance (wrong) and that you are among the 56 percent of wage earners that pay income taxes (very unlikely). But those assumptions make it very easy to see why you'd nose your way into other peoples' business, blab about it anonymously online, then wonder nobody takes you seriously. Do yourself a favor - mind your own life. You've got some problems yourself. That's very clear.

It`s called sub-judice, one does not discuss a case of that kind before or while it is being scrutinised by a court.

It is not in the interests of justice and will tarnish the trials process, the child is a minor and should not be identified on a forum such as this by the naming of their parent/s, they are obviously vulnerable and don`t need any more nonsense in their life.

Try to find some compassion for the child who is after all a victim.

He or she also said that smoking it was not illegal...but in fact you have to posses it in order to smoke it...therefore he or she is wrong. I read perfectly fine, thanks.

The provable fact that you've smoked pot isn't criminal. You can't be charged with smoking pot because you have some party pics stashed away with your diploma.

i agree that posting on topix doesnt help. But i also know the the cps in jackson county need to wake up! The problem is...all these parents doing drugs...and im not really talkin about weed, infront of the kids, selling foodstamps to get there drugs. Their kids starve, and see things at a young age. And live lives they shouldnt have to. Some of these parents know laws, rules...and use them against the workers.
