The owner of the Nelson Ledge Quarry Park really doesn't care what the local residents think of his noise or the drug and alcohol abuse that takes place at his campground. I have called countless times about the noise, both the the park and the sheriff's department, only to be told by the sheriff's there is nothing they can do - the park is private property - and the park only turns the music up louder. If I were to have a big party on my property and the neighbors complained of the noise - you can bet the sheriff would be at my doorstep!!

The owner appears to be serious about pleasing the community. He banned SECRET GARDENS at sixfingertree.com , an audio book about an introvert who happens to raise cannabis, from sales at NLQP festivals. The book does not sensationalize cannabis, it simply portrays the subject authentically. It is sold in family book stores in Florida. Still, the owner banned it because of the subject matter.
While disappointed that Secret Gardens will not be available at NLQP, we respect the owner's sensitivity to the community while trying to run a service oriented business in these difficult times.

I guess the next time the music is rattling my windows at 1:30am, I will call Evan Kelley, the owner, personally and request he turn it down. I'll let you know how that goes.
Our local EMS service is not allowed in the park without a police escort. They post a list of concerts in the squad room with the preferred drug to abuse that follows the venue scheduled so they can have a little idea what the preferred course of treatment would be. The Quarry now has its own medic tent which, as of last year, had no affiliation with any local hospital so they were unable to transport any overdoses or injuries. Hopefully, this year, they have a local hospital to support them. The bouncers on occasion will beat up concert-goers and the victim will not file charges because they will state that they will not be allowed back in the Quarry. It's locally known as a drug haven.

Lucile sounds like u need to move haha! Stop winning and go down to the park and get groovy! And if you don't want to leave the area... If the quarry is a rocking don't bother knocking haha and that's hilarious that they turn it up when you complain! If stop complaining then but do let us know how it goes this is amusing to hear about!
