Plough was a pompous ass as far as being a judge. Maybe he thought he was another Roy Bean.
With his record as a judge, I can't imagine anyone using him for a lawyer.

He also has a drug dealing son Josh, that always gets off with his crimes even when caught red-handed, passed out in a car, with Herion in his pocket. Amazing.

My favorite episode was when he personally visited the Bishop's home in Youngstown, knocked on the door, and attempted to speak with him, knowing full well that doing so was unethical, and prohibited by the OSC, given the fact that the Bishop was a represented party in a civil suit regarding trees in a Diocese owned cemetery.
Oh...and the time he got thrown out of Summit County Common Pleas Court after attempting to intercede on his son's behalf in a drug case.
OH...and the time he threw the newly licensed defense attorney in jail for contempt because the attorney refused to go forward on a case that he had just received hours earlier, and the entire state defense bar howled.
Oh...and the numerous times there would be no recording equipment operating in his courtroom, hence, no way for defendants to reproduce the record for appeals.
