All I read is how nice and from a "Good Family" Mr. Ron Kelly was from. Nice way to throw your life away and devastate the family of Mr. Kernich. I guess maybe a lesson can be learned by those who think cruising the streets at 3:00am looking to arse whip someone is some sort of evening pleasure. Well, the adage that all men are created equal just ain't so is it. Is common sense a learned behavior, or is there a genetic component??

He gets what he deserves. The system got it right this time.
Portraying himself in court as Mr Goody Two Shoes made me want to puke. Ten witnesses testified against him so what made him think he can get away with murder?

Neither.People make their own individual decisions and he'll pay for his. He may have had a "good family" but that really doesn't matter now.Genetics especially have nothing to do with it. May Chris's soul rest in peace.

It warms one's heart to see that the citizens (jurors) of Portage County are sending the message that the "thug life" thing don't play in their backyards. A tip of Art's hat to one and all.

Glad to see that punk is going to get what he deserves. He'll see he's not such a tough guy now. May the family of Chris Kernich find some peace in this verdict.

Actually, the cost to put someone to death costs more than keeping him/her incarcerated for a life term.
I wish I could remember where I read that so I can refer you.

You are right. When they are sentenced to death they can appeal and appeal and appeal wasting tax dollars and flooding the court system with their hopeful non-existent non-sense. Life is Life, they are stuck.

I'm glad justice is being served. You want to come to Portage County and act like an animal, we will throw you in a cage! Keep the trash out of Kent and surrounding communities.

Very sad story, he was charged with two counts of murder, no one can beat two counts of murder. Kent knew what they were doing from the beginning, all evidence against Kelly makes no sense. There was no blood on his shoes, he didn't give Kernrich the knockout punch, Blood on the cuff of his jeans? So what! I mean he was there and Kernrich was badly bleeding so I could see a speck of blood getting on him at some point I guess Kelly rubbed the cuff of his jeans across Kernrich purposely. This wasn't a 20 min fight it probably started and was over within 45 secs to a minute and everyone had different stories until the police intervened and has them change it.and you believe the testimonies of 10 drunken witnesses, of course they are going to say both of them stomped him even if one didn't, might as well just get them both ya know! I salute Portage County's Prosecution team, best way to win a case is to overcharge someone. Big ups to Glenn Jefferson, you got to participate in a murder and not get charged. This is probably the biggest case Portage Co. has ever had with their loser police squad, judge, jury, and jurisdiction. If both of them they did it they deserved to be punished, but in Kelly's case Idon't see the evidence at all besides 10 drunken witnessses who were coached by police to say he was the one kicking and stomping him. It's not hard to get 10 people to say the same thing in court! Think about it! Horrible verdict! Let's hope for an appeal.

look at yourselves; hoping for death and rape on this young man that you don't even know. How dare you. How dare you tarnish CK's memory by wishing to perpetuate the violence that ended his life. Do you honestly think CK would have wanted that; he understood mercy. You should be ashamed of yourselves, because if CK were here, he would be ashamed of you too.

ummm Why isn't Glenn Jefferson not charged with murder like the other two? I think that is BS and he should pay for it too since he was driving. My prayers go out to the Kernich family. I knew these guys and it's very sad how a few minutes of nonsense ended up taking so many lives away... These guys weren't "THUGS" they were all just at the wrong place at the wrong time and now they all paid with their lives... no one won here people no one.... RIP Chris
