How about a few obvious phrases to describe the plans for route 8:
if it ain't broke, why fix it
busy-work
make-work

Yippie.. well at least Boston Stranglers, er Heights PD will increase their revenue with the addtional traffic on Olde 8 that go faster then the 35mph posted speed.
Just wish they would add a traffic signal at Olde 8 and Rt 303. But then again, that takes all the fun out of moving 1/3 mile in 15min!

I travel between the Akron area to Hudson back and forth every day. I can just imagine what that will be like.

You clearly do not know what you're talking about. Again.

This project is so long overdue... I am happy for the people that have to use Rt 8 for commuting.
Sorry for the construction delays though.
The improvements were desparately needed in 1975 so 33 years isn't so bad to wait!
Untill 3 years ago I was one of those poor souls out there in the morass and debacle that is Rt 8 north of Stow.
Now my office is the home, commuting time 20 seconds.

This Route 8 project is so long overdue. Anyone who drives that stretch each day knows it. Yes, there are some projects that should be questioned - but not this one.

Back again under another name,I see---but I will reply anyway.

If we're talking the work in Boston Hts and Macedonia north of route 303, it's desperately needed and long overdue.

If we're talking about the part from the Little Cuyahoga Bridge north into Stow, that's nothing more than unneeded trumped up work just to pay off some contractor friend of some politician.

And it wouldn;t surprise me if even the parts of Route 8 not being worked on at any given time will still be part of a super-long "work zone" so they can run speedtraps in all sorts of new places with an artificially reduced speed limit.

"make work," and "busy work" and c(h)it(t)y worker go together. If my workers had the productivity and attitide of c(h)it(t)y workers like you, we'd be broke and out of business.

Though I guess it's OK for you to spend time on these discussion boards---nice double standard on your part.

the city work needs three posts during work to express no worthwhile thoughts and then blames others on their lunch break, for calling him out.

I haven't been to Akron in a long time, but it seems like every time I'm near or on Route 8 it's under construction and has been like that for years.

And you actually think you know what my working hours and break times are. Guess again, chump.

I know what your definition of "worthwhile" is also--a comment that you agree with. Too bad mine are the correct ones, whether you agree with them or not.

I bet the mayor of Boston Heights can't wait for the work on Route 8 to be done - he's counting on his police officers to do tax collection, I mean speed traps, so they can use the speeding fines to provide the lion's share of the village's budget.
