What do you say in a time like this? I am so sorry for your loss. The loss of a child is truly the most devistating thing a parent can experience but through all the hurt and heartache please know that while your hearts are breaking, GOD's heart breaks for you. He loves you and in your time of need it is GOD that can help. He will listen and hold you, give you comfort and peace of mind. God will give you strength to get through this. All of you are in my prayers.

It is so heart breaking to hear this kind of news. Even people that have never met you have sympathy for the parents of the baby and family of the grandmother. My heart and prayers go out to Kim and Jj. May God give you great strength to get through this more than difficult time.

I'm very sorry for the family's loss. If it was my family I would find out what time the call to 911 went in and how long it took the Fire Dept. to arrive. It is 6 mins and 2.6 miles away from the Township fire station. It is the responsibility of the Department to have their drive plowed and equipment ready to go within 3 minutes notice.

We had a fire at our residence recently and it took over 22 min for the Ravenna Township Fire Department to arrive. I have the GPS pics and phone records to prove it. The closest Fire Departments to me are Rootstown and Ravenna City. A fire doubles in size every minute. In this case it may have saved two lives had they arrived under the state standards. I know it was a blizzard outside but what do we pay City/County taxes for? The main roads should have been plowed.

Also wondering why the heck a new mother would even want to be away from her 2 week old baby @ 3 in the morning. Doesn't sound very responsible.

The first couple of paragraphs of your post brings up some interesting debate but, as I don't live in Ravenna, I can't comment other than I agree that driveways and roads should be kept cleared for such emergencies. However, we as humans have to accept our limitations, and sometimes we ARE at the mercy of Mother Nature. ALL firemen (and women) risk their lives everyday to protect and save us. My thoughts and prayers go out to them, too, as I'm sure it must've been heart-breaking to know they couldn't protect and save two beautiful lives.
As far as your last paragraph, well, let's just not go there. You don't have any business questioning motives. She didn't leave the baby unattended, she left him with GRANDMA, a very responsible choice, if you ask me. There are many reasons why she might've done that. Maybe she was ill and needed rest and care for herself?? Maybe just a night of uninterrupted sleep?? Maybe she's suffering a bout of severe post-partum depression and needed extra help?? All those are sound reasons why Grandma was watching her sweet grandbaby. But, I know what you're thinking ... maybe Mom wanted to go party around, hitting all the bars, yada, yada, yada. Well, since we don't know, why speculate?? Why pass judgment?? She left the baby with a trusted caregiver, and it was an unfortunate accident that the trailer caught fire. PLEASE, just offer up prayers for this family. Their loss is so great.

When I heard about the fire I was in shock, especially when I found out who the family was. Kimber you may not remember me, or maybe you do. I am so sorry for you and your family. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I can not even begin to imagine the pain and the suffering you and your families are experiencing. Little Ethan was a lucky little boy for having such a loving family.
