Former El Paso news anchor Felipa Solis is recovering in a Colorado hospital from injuries she received in a car accident that killed her husband, former El Paso County Commissioner Miguel "Mickey" Solis.

Why was the following referenced included?

"El Paso Times archives detailed acrimonious electoral battles, including verbal jabs, legal complaints and even a claim by Telles in 1982 that a teen gang named Los Blue Diamonds was hired to destroy his political signs."

This was in very bad taste. The reporters should be ashamed, as well as the editor to allowed.

My condolences with the Solis family and for a speedy recovery for Mrs. Solis. I worked for Mr. Solis and knew all his family well, he was a wonderful, intelligent man who loved his family with all his heart. My thoughts and prayers are will you all.

I agree. The statement added nothing worthwhile to the story and was inappropriate. The Times editorial staff needs to wake up and actually review articles before publishing them.
