I was hoping for good things from our new sheriff but worried he is nothing more than a ticket cop who probably got his job through political patronage. His hiring retires Floridians has confirmed He is a sheriff without a clue. In four years he will be like the ex traffic cop NCSHP from Clay Co Joe Shook unemployed.<quoted text>
Thanks Reb, good to hear from you.
The turnout was overwhelming; all of the Sheriffs, and now our new Union County Sheriff would make any person of good will feel proud.
You and I as well as many others, who are presently taking a brief hiatus in postings, I believe, contributed in the successful elections of two new and responsive leaders, that being a new Sheriff and Tax Commissioner.
Everyone in their own way made this effort successful, as well as assisting in producing some very healthy numbers for a political newcomer, who scared the boots off a well-financed and deeply entrenched twelve (12) year vestige of left over political cronyism and political hackery.
While those wishing for the injustices to continue, and make noise because their friends or godfathers/protectors may have been removed, they’ll just have to learn to live without the special favors as we always have, and after time they may come to realize how much more beneficial, good leadership, law enforcement, and government is for the whole community.
Just think what we could have with one more change.

Yep. Agree. Mason wasn't elected because he is a good person for the job, he was elected because of the slanderous lies told about Scott Stephens. Topix people and Mason are dirty players.

Ha Ha sour grapes go Mack go

I saw a deputy patrolling our road today for the first time in 6 years.
He was driving slow and looking around.
This is great!
I wish he would stop and say hello! And I could see a real person driving and not hiding texting or talking on a cell phone behind dark tactical tinted windows.
I am so glad to have the sheriff dept out in the community and not sitting with the Blairsville PD doing ATM escorts......
#415 Feb 14, 2013
You've great eyesight for a guy in Commerce.
#416 Feb 14, 2013
Windstream is probably to blame for the different towns shown. I live in Blairsville but it shows Dawsonville.
#417 Feb 14, 2013
Same here, I live in Blairsville but it shows me from Dawsonville.
#418 Feb 14, 2013
I have fiber provided by Windstream. I am sure a call to Jay Stubblefield , Windstream manager for this area of north Georgia, can help you understand the different loops and middle miles they route with at different times of day.
Is that you CJ? How is the job search?
#419 Feb 14, 2013
and he can see into darkened windows. These comments are goofy and goofier.
#420 Feb 14, 2013
So did people ask Mason if he was going to arrest Lamar? Did you ask Mason if he was going to arrest the officers who trashed the building? Did you ask Mason if he was going to arrest Scott for the boat's insurance fraud? Did people ask Mason who authorized the pay raises? Did people ask Mason any of the questions asked here? Did you ask Mason if evidence was destroyed?
#421 Feb 14, 2013
If you had those questions to ask , what was stoping you? do you need someone to do all your dirty work?
Mack answered every question asked with great answers that the audience loved. He earn a lot of respect that Thursday night. You should have raised your hand.
PS He will be at the Copperhead Lodge this Sat morning. Come join him for breakfast at 8:30am. You can ask him those question at that time. We will be looking for you.
#422 Feb 14, 2013
Mason has a job to do and he will do it.
It will be done on his on time frame.
If I were some judges I would watch my step.
Two superior court judges have been snatched off the bench last year.
WITH no help from local sheriff or county commissioner!!!!
Think what a judicial commission could do with help from an honest cop? Gunter-Langley--and Alderman were all connected one way or another.
#423 Feb 14, 2013
Mason ain't honest. He's a good ol' boy in sheep's clothing. You people don't know him like some of us do. Mack has history.
#424 Feb 15, 2013
You should have had the ball$ to come and ask him those questions your bad self, instead of hiding behind anonymity. He gave you a chance by appearing in a public forum and you can always walk into his office and ask him, instead of acting like a little school girl.
#425 Feb 15, 2013
Wow! A little school girl who doesn't have any balls?
Hiding behind anonymity "I love my gun and Bible." What does you mama call you for short?
Reading these comments makes me ashamed of y'all's stupidity and that you call yourselves conservatives. I wouldn't want to be in the same room with any of these Mason fans. I've been successful pushing your buttons watching you dance like little puppets.
Oh, btw, voting for Mason and having him sheriff isn't an accomplishment but a set-back for UC. You'll see. I doubt that many of you know the real Mason; he hasn't changed. I don't need to go to his office, a Tea Bagger's meeting to talk to him; I've known him for years.
#426 Feb 15, 2013
With that attitude maybe you should read that bible you tote around a little more.
#427 Feb 15, 2013
Now ain't you just special !! LMAO
#428 Feb 15, 2013
It's because Mason kicked his butt is school. He's a sore coward.
