"When I come across the part where Eve was punished for eating fruit and Adam did"nt get punished even though he ate the fruit I could"nt understand why God would make such a difference."<quoted text>
You are wrong . I went to church when I was a child
because my mom made me go . I did"nt listen to what was said .A few weeks ago I throught I would start reading the bible .When I come across the part where Eve was punished for eating fruit and Adam did"nt get punished even though he ate the fruit I could"nt understand why God would make such a difference .This is when I decited to look up the parts of the bible about women . I could not beleive what it said about the way women was to be treated .
I always throught God loved everyone . I tried to understand why the bible would say such mean things . The only thing I could think of was man wrote the bible over and over and they could change it to anything they wanted to . I knowed if God loved everyone there was no way he could ever allow this to happen .
I always throught the bible was Gods teachings . This did"nt sound like the God I had heard about . This is why I commented on the bible the way I did .The bible did say everything I commented on .
I was not trying to make a mockery of the bible .
There's the rub right there. You see God didn't make a difference. Men did. But think about it. Way back then there was a different kind of survival thing going on. Men, who were physically stronger than women, with all of the power that that represents, were the ones who decided what was what. That's just the way it was. So they eventually were the ones who set down the rules as to how folks were to interact with one another in a,'relatively', coherent society. And later still they were the ones who got to write it all down. Fast forward .we are not cave dwellers anymore. We are not hunter gatherers anymore. One day we, hopefully, will have reached the point where gender is a non issue in most aspects of our existence. I think that we still have a ways to go.
